This is week 1 of my 52 week project, and I already posted it late! Curses! But even though I'm such a procrastinator, I'll try my best to keep up with this one!Anyway, the suggested theme for week 1 was New Years Resolutions. One of my resolutions this year is to work really hard on improving my digital art because I know it can use a lot of work... so I drew a chibi version of me riding my tablet pen, which somehow became really short and fat...
Anyway, I hope you like! I'm just starting digital art so any tips, advice, or harsh critiques are welcome! I'm currently using CS5 and I still have a ton to learn. Like somehow my colors always seem so washed out and if I ever try to make the hue brighter, it looks like a clown threw up in my picture...

Thanks so much! You should draw your tablet! I thought mine would come out funny looking so I just drew the pen. Ah, I've noticed that on Sai, some people get carried away with bright colors. I am really envious of the blending capabilities though. I've been thinking I need to get it but I'm too cheep...

Yeah, SAI's blending tools are amazing! besides, it has some other stuff that I like. I use it along with Photoshop most of the time
anyway, you can find a few nice ways to blend colors on Photoshop too
and yes, the tablet pen makes your drawing look joyful and funny ^^

I have the same new years resolution since I just got my tablet on Christmas~ xDD
And I'm guessing you have a wacom tablet as well since the pen looks similar to mine.
( Or maybe just all tablet pens look similar~? >.>;; )
