Beatrice and Ruth are based on the LBSCR Stroudley Coaches, which would mean that they are the sisters of Annie and Clarabel. Unlike Annie and Clarabel, Beatrice and Ruth are built in 1872, while Annie and Clarabel are built in 1885. But both pair of coaches arrived on Sodor in 1925. Annie and Clarabel were given to Thomas in the mid 1940s, while Beatrice and Ruth weren't pulled specially by anyone. But were used for tours and special occasions. But after Percy saved some passengers in 1955 after he runs into flooded waters (Percy's Promise). He is granted 2 coaches of his own, who are Beatrice and Ruth. They were repurposed into coaches again and have stuck with Percy ever since
