The 1100D isn't much of a large upgrade from the 400D. My theory is, either make a huge upgrade, or don't upgrade at all lol. You'll find more of an improvement in your photos buying a nice lens then a slight camera upgrade.

Hmm, yeah. But the thing is my 400D's lens zoom is a bit.. well.. damaged. xD So I'm gonna go for the 1100D I was meant to get it last year but ended up with a million year old 400D from a family friend.

If the lens is broken then you replace the lens! : P
What lenses do you currently have?

The 400D wasn't that different then my 450D (In some ways the 400D was better), so I know the camera isn't that bad!

Of course when it comes down to it, you will buy a new camera if that's what you want, but don't expect the image quality to be much better, because it will only be a slight improvement. I guess other improvements might be worth the upgrade, like movies and live view.

I have the standard 18-55mm and a 75-300mm. The 18-55mm is the one that is damaged at the zoom, it crackles. s:

The 400D is a great camera but I miss be able to film on it, not having a video camera sucks. xD So I thought that getting the 1100D would be a good idea because then i can take pictures and video. xD
