Description Exiled Thrawn.  This version is my best attempt at recreating the look from the illustration for "Mist Encounter," the original short story which told us Thrawn's origin, published in Star Wars Adventure Journal by West End Games in August 1995.  It was illustrated by Doug Schuler, although the picture I worked off of is by Darren Tan. (just search "mist encounter Thrawn" in Google Images and you will see a painting of Thrawn meeting Parck to compare.)
The story itself was later reprinted in "Outbound Flight" by Timothy Zahn with some minor changes to update it after the prequels came out, and in 2017 for the new novel "Thrawn" the first two chapters of the book are in fact almost an exact retelling of "Mist Encounter", down to each individual character, with only minor alterations, such as the addition of Eli Vanto.

This was made with Azalea's Dolls Sci Fi Warrior 2 program, but edited in Gimp.  Edits made in Gimp were:

1-the width of his nose, because I did not like any of the options in the dollmaker when it comes to Thrawn
2-the brightness of his eyes, because the red eyes available in the dollmaker were rather dark and did not stand out in the final picture

While I was editing in Gimp, I should have tried to add a bit of fur trim to the vest to better mimic the Tan picture, but I honestly did not think about it at the time. The Tan pic only goes to about the hips, so I cannot see what kind of footwear, if any, Thrawn is wearing, but given all the descriptions of how silently he is moving, I decided to make him barefoot for this picture.
