Description Kuwagi

    Danger level: ★
Location: Mana Forest, Skaian Highlands, Angura forest
Drops: Cotton, Beast fur, rubber, Thunderhorn

Kuwagis are mainly nonconfrontational creatures with primarily nocturnal habits, it's very rare to spot one during the day. They're equally difficult to be hunted due to their speed, and can be quite a nuisance to farmers when they come out for midnight snacks. Mordaxes are their natural predators due to their excellent night vision, so they're commonly used by chiots to control the growth of their population. Mordax treats are typically made out of their meat, and their fur is greatly sought to craft clothing and pillows. The skin of this creature has a rubbery texture and most rubber properties you'd see in latex-based rubber, so it's commonly used in raincoats and boots.

Once captured, the kuwagi will constantly attempt to set itself free, being known to starve itself to death when kept in captivity, entirely refusing to reproduce. It deems their species simply impossible to be kept as pets or livestock, no matter how adorable and fluffy they may look. They have a strong protective nature to those they consider their allies, regardless if they're from the same species of not - they'd jump in front of other hostiles to shield them from damage, if their party members were in critical condition. Kuwagis can generate static electricity by rubbing their paws together, which causes a stunning temporary paralysis.

Though Kuwagi meat is considered a rare delicacy, there are quite a few chiots uncomfortable with the idea of sampling it due to the fact that both their species are the closest in resemblance within the hostile kingdom. There are quite a few horror stories in which is said that their meat taste the same, and that eating kuwagi is a "socially acceptable leeway to cannibalism". Whether or not this urban legend was proven true is a mystery however, and many restaurants in Mana have it within its more expensive dish options.
