Love the composition, its a pity the flowers in the foreground aren't in focus as well.

I'm about to get a new camera myself, so it's something I'm going to need to learn as well!

I have two cameras, a FUJIFILM FinePix S2940W (my primary camera) and a Nikon COOLPIX L20 (my main camera until I purchased the FinePix). A link to see them skyfiredragon.deviantart.com/a… Both were purchased used at a local pawn shop, without their manuals. I have downloaded the manuals, but I have not fully read up on all the functions of the FinePix yet. I am having too much fun playing around with it!

Ah! is the Fuji a DSLR?

I just co-bought (as a birthday present to myself) a Pentax K-30 with a 18-135 mm lens kit and a polarising filter www.dpreview.com/reviews/penta… Pretty excited to start using it, when it arrives I've been doing some reading on aperture, ISO, and shutter speed - a good camera is great, but I figure I'll need to know how to maximise it's potential. I kind of want to have fun AND take the most amazing photos I can

Yes the Fuji is a DSLR. It does not have interchangeable lens units, but it works for me at this time.
Enjoy your birthday camera, it sounds like you are educating yourself on using to it fullest! Β Β
