SLAM

"Shoot," Katie cussed under her breath as she jumped away from the two horse trailer. The new stallion has slammed his back hoof into the side of the trailer so hard that it left a small raised bump on the exterior of the trailer. He squealed from inside, and Katie could see his wide, excited eyes through the holes in the wall of the vehicle.
"This thing is a piece of crap," Katie said and she opened the back door. The stallion turned his gorgeous head around to look at her, his ears pricked forward and his eye glittering. Michelle stepped into the trailer in front of him and attached a lead rope to his halter.
"Come on, buddy," She began to back him out. The stallion squealed again, and all but leaped out of the small trailer, back end first. Katie jumped out of the way and regrouped herself to look at him once he had come out.
"He's nice!" Michelle smiled, looking up at the horse. He was tense; his head was held up high, and his nostrils flared as he took in his new surroundings. His paint markings seemed to glow in the sunshine.
"He's great," Katie breathed as she took the lead rope from Michelle and lead the horse toward the paddocks. He pranced the whole way, tossing his head and squealing again.
"You're such a boy," Katie laughed as she watched him whip his big head to the right as soon as Avalon trotted up to the fence. He nickered to her and swished his tail. Avalon pinned her ears back.
"Sorry, guy." Katie patted his neck and led him around the barn to the empty pasture she had kept open just for the new arrival. She smiled as she walked him into the opening of the gate. He was fidgeting; obviously, he didn't want to stand still. Katie slipped the halter off of her new horses' head, and waited for him to do something. He stood there, paralyzed with curiosity. The wind ruffled his tail and he took a breath in. Penny was in the paddock across the path from his, and she was cantering up and down the fence. Ionized took off at a gallop, excited by the mares around him.
"What's with his mane?" Michelle asked as she caught up with Katie outside the pasture gate.
"Apparently, he got too close to one of the mares at the other place and she took a chunk out of his neck. I guess they shaved it so the whole thing would be short, but it looks kind of silly," Katie laughed as Ionized nearly tripped over his own feet as he attempted to pick up a mouthful of grass while cantering at the other end of the pasture.
"He's going to be a project... hope you're ready!" Michelle said, and went inside the barn to distribute the feed.

Yay! We have a new stallion! I still have two more horses to draw, one from a breeding about 4 months ago and anotherwe won from an auction - a draft!

Anyway, hopefully we're back again, and for longer now that it's SUMMER!!! Hope you like Ionized, our crazy new stally. He's open for breedings - he needs BABIES!
