Well if you remember, The tales of Dragons peak: The elements reincarnate the SWAP force got elements of harmony. The reason their elements are "sliver" is because when star swirl and Alethea (who at the time was a pony) finished these elements Malefor released Nightmare Moon and they attacked Skylands. So Alethea used the elements and defeated both, but when she used them she transformed into a dragon and her courage is what made her the ruler, But the elements paid a price, before Nightmare moon was blasted back into the moon, she cursed the elements, they transformed into sliver stones, The curse could only be broken by Skylanders. But since the giants and SWAP force had been banished there were no Skylanders for them to use. Star swirl made a spell to try to break the curse (This spell was written before the one Twilight finished) but the spell could not remove the curse. So Eon suggested that the elements stay hidden and until the equestrian elements are reincarnated these elements are not to be spoken of.
