Description
my lungs still taste like
dark, snowy afternoons filled
with mixtapes and
your eyes overlooking
all of my flaws

sometimes i like to think that
you cared a bit more than
you actually did
i assume you know what i'm getting to,
right?

the night the stars scattered the skyline
you remember, don't you?
when the fireworks went off
at midnight,
when the crowds all cheered?

except me, i sat alone and watched the
world fly by

days became weeks
a month passed before we whispered
back and forth once again

it never quite felt the same

as the distance grew,
i grew apart too
i know you never did, the rumors
never lie when it comes to matters like
this

then came the sleepless nights
the hair pulling
the cutting
the long talks

my life shattered on the floor next to
the mirrors i broke because all
i saw
was you

you know, looking back on it
i still don't understand
you never lost anything other than me
i drifted
you just never let go

I really love this because of its flow and its amazing imagery and how much I end up caring about the drama between these two people. The only thing I would say is that the third verse could be more original.
