The storm's howling was muted by the thick stone walls. It sounded so far away, not more than a mere whisper. It was almost too quiet, as if something else was shielding the ruins from the outside world.

"Looks like we're stuck in here. At least for the night. What do you think about taking a look around? If we find a good spot, we can set up our camp.", Jarah mumbled and let his eyes wander. The hall they were in had a high ceiling, supported by heavy pillars and at it's far end was a long and narrow corridor, leading into complete darkness. They would definitely need torches, if they wanted to explore more of the ruin.

"Yea, we probably should do that.", Aeryn agreed after standing up. "Let's check the hallway. Just to make sure that it is safe here."

He looked up to Jarah, a shy smile on his face. The benefit when someone mistook you for a girl? Getting protected!

"It's really cool in here. If we are lucky, we'll even find some water.", said Jarah, taking careful steps in the dark.

"If someone else was here, they would have found us by now?!" Aeryn's voice was hushed and he hoped that Jarah would dispel his doubts.

"I'm pretty sure we would know, if someone else was around.", Jarah replied with an amused smile, "But hey, we defeated a raptor! How hard could it be to fight some men?"

"We?", Aeryn retorted with a laugh, "You! Like the guys this morning!"

Maybe there was really no need to worry. He hoped so.

"Look!" He pointed at a rather large gap in the wall, "This could be some sort of yard out there?!"
The gap wasn't wide enough for them to squeeze through, but there had to be another way out.

The corridor revealed a second hall that was even darker than the one they came from. It was hard to see, the few cracks in the walls barely letting sunlight filter through. Not that there would be much light during a sandstorm anyway.

There were remains of stairs as well as weird constructions made out of metal. Long lost mechanics that were no longer of use. On the other wall was an open archway, leading into the yard they had just discovered. It was partly roofed and a surprising amount of plants - even trees - grew within.

"It's strange... technically the sandstorm should have caused a lot more damage. This whole yard should be flooded with sand."
