I started this page on friday and everything in the world decided to keep me from finishing it until now. It was something I just wanted to fool around with and although im disappointed with most of the poses, i am exceptionally happy with the highlight work i did on it.

I like to imagine Darkwing is a complex character that is filled with confidence, intelligence and cunning. I also like to think that a good portion of his actions are fueled by the idea that he's making a better world for his daughter.

I'm a head over heels person for their interaction; i've never experienced a father/daughter relationship that felt genuinely lovingly and filled with so much win as those two. So i tend to make them live for one another alot in the things i write or draw. Although Gosalyn doesnt appear in this comic, she is the driving force behind the idea that he is invincible as long as he has her waiting for him.

Normally, the typical Liz motto is to take the bond and shatter it utterly through some family disaster for reader entertainment. I think however that since my uncle passed away and i lost the closes thing i ever had to a father, that my desire to cause such damage, albeit fictionally has significantly eased up. Either that or i simply care too much for this pair to see something bad happen between them.

..Man look at me being all emotional. Bah.

There's no 'sequel' to this page, please don't demand me to continue like so many people have to the ASADAE comic. It was just a try at a spontaneous comic page. For me. When i was feeling under the weather.

I should however draw a picture of Gos and Drake being happy together. Or maybe hope someone else will. (hinthinthinthint :B)

And YES. No Negaduck! i'm as surprised as you are. I guess probably because i imagine a fight between them would be considerably more personal...and bloody.

EDIT: I should add that this was kinda/sorta inspired by Frank Miller's Batman. Because that comic is sheer win.
