So remember how i said i'd take a break from Sonic? Yeah he doesn't really take "no" for an answer and punched inspiration in the eye.Just a little doodle sketch I did last night, i stylized Sonic a bit more than i usually do here but I don't think it's too bad. (other than that hockey stick is at an impossible angle to have launched that puck... but like usual i only noticed after i finished haha) It always bugged me how ABC demanded that the people who wrote SatAM do some episodes that don't revolve around Robotnik because they didn't want to give the impression of that situation taking over their lives.
Well, guys, seriously. If you're under the rule of an evil dictator and you're hiding away in a forest planning to overthrow him, yeah, i think it pretty much guaranteed that it is indeed taking over your entire life. Kinda has to you know? for survival n'all. Now, I LOVE Antoine, the guy is amazing in a way that when he finally DOES something heroic, you're just so unbelievably happy, but his episodes were just awful. I would have extremely enjoyed episodes that primarily are based on their everyday life chores or difficulties. (How about some character development huh? maybe touch on Sonic and Sally's relationship? Sonic's relationship with Tails? Sally's overall perspective of ruling a small forest filled with conflicting furries?) Something that gives the viewer a sense of camaraderie with the characters and not just watch Antoine fleeing a robot modeled after The Nanny's Fran Fine. (younger people won't get this reference! \o/)
Ah well, if wishes were pigs we'd all have bacon for breakfast.
and lunch
and dinner.
mmm bacon.

Yeah, that would have been cool to see (Episodes about daily struggle) I think the time they got closest to that was when they finally brought electricity to Knothole, but that's just me.

That episode was so unbelievably downplayed in the sense that what Rotor did was an extremely successful thing. He brought electricity (albeit a pathetic amount.) to a place that appeared to have none. I think it was mostly implied that any kind of electronic's they used were battery powered (which i can imagine would have also been difficult to find too when it came time to replace them!) The more they moved towards season two however, they started to use considerably higher use machinery and at that point they either needed a generator or Rotor would have had to have figured out how to produce even more energy from their hydroelectric contraption.
Sonic's been known to recharge things by running a treadmill that's connected to the machines outputs, maybe he's used for that too?

Yeah, it did seem rather downplayed didn't it? I wonder how many times that thing blew up in Rotor's face during testing o_o Somehow the guy figured it out, maybe they used solar and/or wind power as well

Yeah, THey could well have used a treadmill, I wonder if Sonic ever had to slow down so that he wouldn't blow something out? hehe

it's kinda crazy that nicole runs on the same equipment that robotnik continues to use on his machines, but i guess he'd have no reason to not use technology that's already been proven effective and possibly top of the line.
