You're asking the reason for the commission? There are hundreds, to put it simply.
Some people just like my style and want their characters drawn in it, others want gifts from their favored artist(s) to give to others.
Having someone commission an artist and then using it for a contest is actually extremely rude unless the original artist AND commissioner consent to it.
