Awww I always felt bad for Helga. She was a crazy lovestruck girl who was quite bitchy but knowing her past, I can't help  but have a liking to her.

I knoooow! She's one of those lovable jerks, I guess. You don't really excuse her actions, of course, she could stand to be a little nicer, but it gives her that interesting personsality.

this particular episode really showed the audience WHY Helga acts the way she does. we always had an inkling, but it was truly a window into Helga's life and honestly it's one of my favorite (albeit saddest) episodes the show ever did. This piece is very nicely rendered and you captured the art style perfectly. I agree with Kevintheman in that the shading is a bit off, but only really in a few places. mostly where her bangs and her face meet, but honestly it's a minute detail and not overly important to the piece. so i'll end it with this. beautiful piece, nicely executed and really brings out a lot of inner emotion to the audience.

It was a real slap to the face! Like, we knew she had it rough at home but then we actually see just how far it goes (especially in the Thanksgiving Episode), and it's just sad what she's been through.

ah it really wasn't so much a critique as it was my humble opinion. and yes it really was a slap to the face. although in the Thanksgiving episode the reconciliation with Helga's family felt a bit forced, but it was necessary for the story. It really makes me want "The Pataki's" TV show to come out though.

Coincidentally enough, I'm watching an episode of Hey Arnold and I see this.

Anyway, as for the picture, I love how the emotion is captured in this and both the scene and her expression does a great job of portraying that. The colors are good, but the shading is rough. I like how the lines and her pose came out though.

Since becoming a mommy i am unable to watch this peisode without balling my eyes out. Sounds overly emotional I know but that poor little lonely girl, i know its only a cartoon but you have captured her raw emotions here, lonely uncertainty and fright and an innocence in her that is about to be stripped away by the neglect she receives emotionally from her parents. I love this picture. I just wish there was an episode where this becomes justified lol SAVE TJM man so we can have some closure xoxoxo I want to Helga
