Skye wasn't happy when he figured out that he had started crushing on Ash, especially while he was still recovering from his burns from the Viridian Forest fire. Poor guy just shut down for a bit, and I can't blame him. Last time he crushed on someone, he got his heart broken and life-long trust issues.

Of course, he never tells Ash why he's so down in the dumps all of a sudden so Ash assumes he's just being depressed. And Ash being the ever-loving friend he is--grabs Skye and drags him outside so that they can cloud-watch together.
