Description

When Skye got Pika, he refused to go anywhere without her (it’s what partners do! they stay together!!) and ended up causing some baby drama when Pika wasn’t allowed into the classroom. After some major pouting and refusal to do anything without her, Skye’s teacher reluctantly agreed to let Pika stay, as long as Skye did well in class.

The teacher was concerned that Pika would be a huge distraction for the other kids (and even be dangerous, as she is an electrical monster, cute or not) but with the class being a bunch of 4/5 year olds, they lost interest in Pika fairly quickly and with Pika’s relaxed nature, she was never seen as a threat. The teachers had also hoped that Skye would eventually leave Pika back home, but uhh Skye never did.

So Pika just,,,became an honourary student. With it being nursery school, there wasn’t much to be taught outside of the basics, but Pika learned some stuff! She learned how to write small words (her own name and Skye’s, most notably) and her dexterity went all the way up.

Pika only stuck around for Skye’s time in nursery school because primary/elementary school don’t allow Pokémon in as students, but she did leave nursery with an honourary certificate so she canonically has an education.
