Project: Angel ArmsThe year is 2350, the world Government of Earth has uncovered a small gateway.. this large Golden door in the ground in the northern lands of Saudi Arabia is a portal that leads to Hell. Fear and shock grip the world as many flock to their religions for fear of the truth..God and Hell do Exist!
The Vatican and Christian Church become a huge part of the World Government, and with that power develop the Angel Arms Project. Hidden for thousands of years is a Sword that has been kept in secret beneath the Vatican, this sword is a weapon that is believed came from Heaven and was wielded by the Archangel Michael himself, when casting out Lucifer and his minions and fellow Angel Supporters from Heaven into Hell..
The Angel Arms armor is a Special Power Armor, that is designed to handle the large Godly weaponry or Demonic weaponry that it may encounter in Hell..this project has one purpose.. to send the Angel Arms Armor into Hell and destroy all the creatures within..find the leaders, kill them.. find the Weakness and exploit it..the belief is that a preemptive strike will spare the Earth Armageddon, and protect Humanity.. the Vatican Controlled World Government believes that this preemptive strike will also aide in the prevention of evil and further the will of God by bringing the War to Hell..rather then wait for hell to come and devour Earth in a war..
this program is secret, because many would protest the decision to strike first..
Three volunteer for the suicide mission, Colonel BlackThorne, a man who has lost everything to the evils of man, which he blames on the influences of Hell..his vendetta and anger have turned towards the pit of fire in which he now will decend and fight..the Portal that opens to hell is mystical but as scientists discovered, respond to frequencies which can be manipulated.. the Angel Arms Support team, Avalon, will be monitoring Colonel Blackthorne's progress and can open the portal to resupply him and give him upgrades as he delves further into the pit..
the frequency can be tuned to His Power Armor and allow the Portal to open near him using that sonic signature..
Sergeant Aj Mills, whose life has been dedicated to the service of the military is a hardened soldier and one of the finest warriors that Colonel Blackthorne has ever fought beside..
Sergeant Sean Jackson, another military elite, and green beret.. Jackson lost his whole platoon in the Battle of the rebel colonial Mars war.., and outnumbered, single handedly defeated an enemy assault on his base on Mars, and returned to Earth a hero..
these three men are going to raise hell...

I suppose.. however, me not being very religious, but spiritual I tend to look at organized religion in 2 facets.. the need for organized religion as a whole is a good thing.. to make others and bring others in and hold that moral values would take an organized effort.. however.. the flock and sheep of organized religions can be perverted and used for political and selfish gains..
so while the Vatican has had it's days of corruption.. they got a handle on it almost 1000 years ago..
the conflicts over religion in the middle east have been going on since religion formed..
I just sit on a hill out here in the country, and pray to god on my own time.. with the Good book.. No preacher, no priest.. just me and my god..
but I hear what you are saying about the fire cracker analogy.. however... I tend to think of it like cancer.. it's dangerous by itself, but can be rooted out with surgical strikes.. if left to itself it's got the potential to spread.. so fanatical/radical Islam, and other religious craziness should be surgically removed.. so the rest of the body can live a long and healthy life..

Yeah, I agree to some degree. It's a difficult issue for sure. I whole-heartedly agree that any evil scum-bag planning to strap a bomb to himself and blow up innocent people should be taken down, and taken down hard. But I do feel that the war on terror as it is right now is counter-productive in the long run. When a kid is looking at their mother lying in all four corners of the room, after some stray bomb, it's easy to see how anger could turn into reckless hate. I mean, you have to be really effing sympathetic to the cause to let something like that go.
So yeah, the immediate threat of terrorism should be met with aggression, but the underlying causes to the problem is a political and socical predicament, not a military one. In my mind at least

my POV is that terrorists bomb innocents and kill tons of people, military action in a war against those groups is necessary.. if civilians get in the way, then that is part of the cost to fight those terrorists..if not being killed by a stray bomb, then would they be safer getting killed or attacked by their own people, who are fanatical to a religious war.. or extremist views..?? or would they be content in cower in a corner form their leaders oppression of their basic rights?? some people have rather died fighting then allow their governments or oppressive governments steal their freedom.. and some would welcome control and dictatorships..
so in my view.. if terrorists weren't allowed to do what they do, and civilians in other countries aided and tried to stop those from joining or encouraging terrorism.. then a stray bomb wouldn't be necessary...but they allow their own people to become extremists and so.. we got bombed.. now they are feeling what the cost of allowing such things to go on in their own country.. the lesson is to limit your government and religious extremism so that terrorists aren't able to roam free.. cause destruction in another land and bring that war back to their own home...
My POV is if you live in an area with terrorists fighting.. and a stray bomb hits your house.. then you should have gotten out before the fighting started..if you stay then you have chosen a side..

Had a giant rant, but felt that "This idea is neat" would have been better than what I was writing. Atlantis all the way.... 
Anyhow, I dig the concept, and the pics are really nicely done.
Are you into any weird sci fi ancient history stuff? Arcs, Atlantis, the world post Ice Age (30,000 BC is our last indicated cool down end) Sphinx, pryamids, angor watt etc lining up with constellations at 25,000 BC, but WHY? I dunno, I got a lot of pre history mumbo jumbo floating around and would love to rant at ya sometime for character story ideas.
