While the Galaxy class has had its share of encounters with the D'deridex class since its first encounter in the TNG episodeΒ "Neutral Zone", the USS Maranello is no stranger to them either.But if you're expecting a big display of fireworks in this shot, have no fear, it is simply a secret mission op to help stabilize an adjoining sector overrun by a rogue faction belonging to the Klingon Empire--which will serve the security of both Romulus and the Federation.

Yeah, I tried to figure out where this would place--since Jetfreak mentioned it was during the TNG era. So I was trying to remember who was captain of the Maranello at that time?

Well, TNG is a vast era, it starts with early TNG with Ambassadors and the late Lost-era ships to late TNG with the Sovereign class and the anti-Borg fleet

Yeah, it is. I might even ask Jetfreak to do a pre-TNG spread involving the USS Galaxy on its first mission.

We kinda miss how Starfleet would have been back then, with ships like the New Orleans, Challenger and other classes flying around... Jetfreak also has a model of an Excelsior-like ship in an Oberth-like configuration, t eh Spokane class, it would look amazing in your idea too.
