Because Superman is included in the comic and in the poster. Jeff Bridges is an older Superman in the center.

Rachel McAdams in Batman would be cool. When I first read The Dark Knight Returns I thought Clint Eastwood would have been perfect in the part.

Well, my first choice for Superman was Kurt Russell, he bares the best resemblance, I think, to Frank Miller's Superman. Unfortunately I couldn't find pics that I felt would work. I thought of Patrick Warburton but again nothing that suited the book. I found the pic of Bridges and it was perfect. Plus Jeff Bridges is awesome in anything.
