These new mickey cartoons are ALOT like Spongebob. I also miss when the animation felt well... magical.

cause they think this will attract more people, scenes the everyone are too lazy to tell Disney what they want from Disney.

I like the show, but they make mickey look 20 and goofy around 70 or something, its just really an unflattering style for Goofy

Haha, that was similar to my reaction as well (mainly because I'm not a big fan of spiders).
Though a lot of the old disney stuff was pretty scary too, I remember watchingΒ The Mad Doctor where the doctor was going to cut pluto in half.Β So I admire them for trying to be dark like those shorts.Β

I want my 3 minutes and 30 seconds back, god I hate these new Mickey cartoons. They aren't funny, the animation/designs look ridiculous, and they've resorted to Spongebob-esque humour, which has always been lame imo.Β
Before anyone comments to disagree with me, let me stop you right there. I do not care if you like them, that's you, not me. I think they are idiotic and in poor taste. No, Clubhouse isn't any better, because I can't stand it either. It's degrading to the characters.Β
I'm sticking with the older things featuring these guys, yunno, the shorts and movies that make them look good? Can we say Runaway Brain, Goofy Movie, and The Three Muskateers? Yup, those are awesome. These are horrible. Goodnight everybody.

I disagree with all the overly-negative comments here. The new Mickey shorts are FANTASTIC and the best thing to happen to the characters in a long time. Plus, the characters ARE true to form and have been given back their original complex personalities from the 20's and 30's in these new shorts.
Plus, these incredible new 2D-animated shorts are definitely waaaaaaaaay better than the poor CGI Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

My reaction was more of a state of shock for this episode alone not the series.Β And I never saw this coming, and Disney has been on a fine line with me at the moment.

Saw that and I was quite ticked because Disney used live footage instead of a actual drawing, design and creativity. But god darn it, Goofy looks disgusting in that design, worse when he's in that grandma disguise. :eww:

disneyphilip In reply to ashbasher22 [2014-07-21 20:04:01 +0000 UTC]
He's in his early 30's Dippy Dawg incarnation, so he DOES NOT look disgusting!

ashbasher22 In reply to disneyphilip [2014-07-21 20:30:53 +0000 UTC]
His eyes style I like but it is not the type I like from Disney, I like weird drawings but to me Goofy does not look appealing to me, if it were a different character with similar style. (New or Pete) But it does not suit Goofy at all.

disneyphilip In reply to ashbasher22 [2014-07-21 20:34:42 +0000 UTC]
I disagree.
It DOES fit Goofy. Remember--it's based on the early 30's version of him, just like all the other characters. They're not going to change something just because you personally don't like it.

Looney tunes is different then Disney.

ashbasher22 In reply to Slasher12 [2014-07-21 12:39:59 +0000 UTC]
Well at least Looney Tunes does adult and opinionated humour, not saying Disney is bad because they made a lot of great humour but it is just Looney Tunes likes to take risks more. (Though Disney went all out with Frollo and the Hellfire song)

Slasher12 In reply to ashbasher22 [2014-07-21 21:19:53 +0000 UTC]

I agree but they got to be creative and smart but risk taking is one of the top priorities when making any kind of art.

*watches cartoon*
Well... that was crazy...
Hyperactive animation with barely a pause for breath, insane situations, and... well, I'd better not spoil anything. At least it raised a smile or two.
But aside from which, I'm kinda used to seeing Goofy wearing pants!
And I wonder what's with their Adobe Flash style animation there...
(Or, at least, if that's how they draw 2D animation these days, my work looks professional now)
