He looks rather serious... no... angry in this image. Someone must've really pissed him off if he's this badass.
Think he needs an epic background as well?

Anyway, love the expression and pose, the idea is interesting as well. The only (minor) thing that bugs me is the gradient on his wings; consider it's just too sudden. Perhaps some more shadows as well? Other then that, everything else is perfect.
