This is one of the few Cat in the Hat drawings that doesn't portray him as a sexualized anime character or a demonic, Gothic beast. It's good to see someone do a great rendition of the classic Cat.

Awesome work! W00t for the cat! I think he deserves a second chance in films. They should do a CGI one lik Horton with Johnny Depp as the Cat. I'd totally go see that

Cool! I Cat In The Hat!

For some odd reason, Cat's lie the Willy Wonka of the Seuss World, mabey it's his hat, mild yet sophicated personalty, and the way he carries a umbrella like a cane (and Thing 1 and Thing 2 are like Oompa Loompas) that gives it way.

HO SHIT CAT IN THE HAT!

Teaching children to let strangers waltz in while mommy's gone without question for fifty+ years.

Nah seriously, I was hoping for some good fanart for this guy! You made a wish come true. The Cat in the Hat's always been my favorite, and not seeing him butchered (damn the live action one) is kickass alone, but he's also being his smug little (or giant if you consider a cat that's six feet tall "giant"...I would) self here, which adds to pwnsomeness. Plus it I love it more because I guess the coloring reminds me of the Chuck Jones and Seuss's cartoon for it. And I really loved that.

Green Eggs and Ham? I haven't heard a thing about that. Steve Carell brought it up as a Seuss thing he'd like to do, but that was it, in this interview (which is great, I'd suggest reading it, Steve and Jim are always fun [link] ).

It would have been better if bluesky was making it in cg like Horton^^

blucille [2008-04-10 16:55:34 +0000 UTC]

for me it was The Cat In The Hat, One Fish Two Fish, and I think the third was called The Cat In The Hat Returns

I still need to read Horton Hears A Who

Blue Sky should do Seuss a favor and do Cat In The Hat right (sorry Mike Meyers, but your take murdered it). I hear Blue Sky is to come out with Green Eggs and Ham in 2011. Now, I understand how you can elaborate on Horton, but how in the heck do you stretch a movie plot out of Green Eggs and Ham???

I know what you mean Horton works caues it has more to it to make a movie were as Green Eggs and Ham looks like it can only be made into a cartoon short as proven from when I saw the cartoon version of it when I was a kid, I wonder how Bluesky is going to pull this off.

As for Cat Blue Sky sould remake it into a cartoon like it should be.

make the sequel! The Cat In The Hat Returns, with all those little cat copies of himself or whatever they were (read the book years ago, should find it in library again)

Ooh, that's an awesome picture! And I love the coloring. The whole thing looks so smooth.
He only has whiskers on one side of his face, thought, but I'm almost thinking that was intentional?

Aww, this is cute. It's adorable to see such a big childhood icon in your style.

I remember liking "The Cat in the Hat Comes Back" or whatever it was called where he had his nephews or whatever they were help clean up the pink mess in the house, and they got it in the snow or something...I think my dad got tired of reading that to me. XD
