Description This fanart was a small work of love for Wendy and Richard Pini's end of Elfquest Fanbook. Now that they received their copy (this was a surprise) I can post this here. Many fans participated and I'm honored I had the chance to join in on this secret project. Major props to Wouter te Witt for putting the fanbook project together!

Of all my influences growing up, Elfquest was one of my strongest. It's a work that spans 40 years and I don't quite have the words to explain just how much it means to me or how marvelous it is.

If you are interested in reading it, all Elfquest comics are free to read online at www.elfquest.com (With exception to the final chapter in the series, 'Elfquest: Final Quest' which can be purchased on Amazon).

Thank you for the amazing journey these past 40 years, Wendy and Richard!

PS. This fanart shows Cutter saying goodbye to his lifelong friend and soul brother, Skywise, who has finally been able to touch the stars.

Elfquest belongs to Wendy and Richard Pini

Ha, a fellow collaborator. Such an emotional piece you submitted; makes me all teary-eyed, as the comic-book has done so many times before.

Goodness this just broke my heart... I loved this series when I was in elementary school, I didn't know back then that this comic had so much to give T-T they translated it in french and I read all the few books available here. Then, like 2 or 3 years ago (maybe more but I didn't have time to read) I found out they were online (on the link you wrote in the description) I read everything all over again in english (damn the french version was really messed up and they missed a lot of things) I cried a few times Β

I also learned not long after finishing the chapters online that they were still publishing more !! But I can't get them for now so... Yeah I don't mind the spoilers but now I'm sad because I loved Skywise so muchΒ  Β

I am overwhelmed with emotion viewing this piece, because I too have an attachment to Elfquest. I wish I had grown up with it, as I had only started reading it a few years ago. Thank you for sharing this awesome artwork and for reminding me to resume reading the work!

I'm afraid I know nothing about Elfquest and thus cannot ruminate alongside you on the game, but it definitely sounds like one of those beloved games of childhood that stay with you all your life, and I can see it reflected here in your lovely art. Beautiful

Thank you, Shout! It's actually a comic book series that ran for 40 years. All the comics (except the very final chapter) are free to read on www.elfquest.com if you are interested. The artist is Wendy Pini, one of the few major woman comic artists to be in the comic industry for so long. Her art had a HUGE impact on my own.

*shields eyes as she wasn't able to get the last issue today* but I am hoping to see the Pinis this weekend at Emerald City Comic Con, so possibly they will have copies there I can buy. I am not old enough to have been around for the original printings (I was a bun in the oven in February 1978) but it has been part of my life since about 1990. O.o

Wendy's reply was "well it's been a part of our lives for a lot longer than that"! Lol, no kidding?

Cutter and his tribe touched me too, going through middle school. Since then I've been a dedicated fan of the series.
I cried when Skywise left, he was one of my favorites of the Wolfriders.
