Last year Roberta was a fledging wrestler fresh out of wrestling academy. While at a party with three friends, two of whom were established wrestlers, the idea of the group having a wrestling challenge came up during the conversation. The four of them, Roberta, Angelus, Johnny, and CeeCee, knocked various ideas back and forth. Eventually CeeCee pitched one that everyone contributed toward, even though Angelus was hesitant about actually accepting it. They would pair up in couples, so the dare went, and each partner would wrestle the same sex in a knockout only match. If the challenge ended in a draw with both couples claiming a win and a loss, no winners would be declared. Otherwise, the couple that won both matches could pose and play with the other couple until they awakened.

CeeCee and Johnny, both in their fourth year of wrestling, convinced Angelus, who was just two months into his wrestling program, that it would make good practice for him. Roberta, even though slightly intoxicated at the time, was naïve in her thinking, not that a clear mind would have made anything but the same reckless decision. She simply wanted the opportunity to partner up with Angelus. He had just broken up with his partner. Willing to be the rebound girl Roberta seized the opportunity and eagerly agreed to the challenge. Besides, she had never been knocked out before. She had been in many scraps from her early teen years on. She wasn't even sure if her wins outnumbered her losses. She was sure that no matter how badly beaten, no one had ever knocked her out. Accordingly she considered herself immune. Her standing joke was that her mom always said she was hard headed. Her line of thought was mistaken. It was simply a bit of luck and nothing more that she had avoided a loss to a knock out. Today that luck would change.

The coin toss decided the first match: Johnny and Angelus went at it. Just when Angelus thought he was about to slip Johnny into a sleeper, he found his move reversed. Naptime came soon thereafter for him. Before he nodded off, he realized that Johnny had been toying with him the entire time. Unconsciousness overtook him before he had the chance to do little more than frown helplessly at Roberta. Unknown to her he had wanted to make a good impression with a victory over Johnny. Equally unknown to him at the time he nonetheless succeeded at making such an impression

In Roberta's mind watching Angelus lose was just as good, perhaps even better, than it would have been to watch him win. She briefly entertained the idea of letting CeeCee beat her. She wouldn't mind waking up next to her sleeping fantasy. Her competitive nature, though, wouldn't allow her to take a dive. She decided that she would impress Angelus by winning her match. He would wake up to her face, his head cradled in her arms as she stroked his hair or so she playfully imagined.

Roberta, however, had no clue that CeeCee and Johnny were playing the both of them. CeeCee followed the same script as Johnny, allowing Roberta to believe that she had the advantage. When CeeCee grew tired of playing possum, she suddenly became a cougar. Roberta, now facing an opponent that evaded her every move, became as helpless as a kitten but nowhere near as meek. She struggled valiantly if futilely. A barrage of kicks to her head finally dropped her to her knees. The last thing she heard before she passed out was CeeCee endlessly repeating a taunt to her: "Is that all you got?" She wanted to answer, but all that escaped her mouth was drool.
