I've been really slammed at work lately and have gotten behind, but I wanted to do something real quick for the #savederpy thing. I've been meaning to paper her up for awhile, and I figure now is appropriate.I didn't like the voice and would be glad to see it changed (hire BaldDumboRat, imo!), but cripes. I can't help but facepalm when I think that the silly little background character that messes things up all the time finally got to get a voice, get a name, and a little time at the forefront... And that turned into a fiasco, too. Poor Derpy, you derpin'.
But yeah. Hopefully everyone will breathe, calm down, and just have fun with our silly little pony cartoon.
Anyway, I'm not all nerdragey about it, but I sure hope they keep her in! Write it off as a derp, change her name/voice if they have to, and keep on trucking. The shoutout was a big enough of a surprise, so even if it was a thing that won't end up being canon to save the character, I'm happy.
Alrighty, back to commissions! Should make some good progress this week.

There ARE prejudiced people in the world,there ARE bigots in the world and there are people in the world who still think like their great grandparents thought: All people who have 'challenges' either physical or mental challenges should be rounded up and shoved into Institutions where we never have to look at their 'disgusting' beings ever again.' Well EXCUSE ME but even though my IQ matches Mizuno Ami's, I have a disability that NO one knows about because I mask it so well! I have a learning disability that makes writing Essays impossible,that makes those scan-tron cards impossible to fill out! I have what Specialist call 'Spacial Disorientation' basically meaning that someone else has to fill out the bubble cards for me other wise I get confused. It's the wiring in my brain that some how never developed the way other people's brains developed. Other people can fly through a scan-tron card and have it done and filled out in less then twenty minutes, me? I need an enormous amount of help filling it out. If I don't have a helper sitting beside or in front of me saying 'Ok this row is for question one so is your answer A,B,C or D? Tell me what the answer is and I will fill the bubble in for you.' I could be sitting struggling to find the bubble for answer C for three hours of a four hour exam.

I can partially agree with the voice thing, I feel that it just needs to be a bit less boyish sounding, and I agree that this whole thing is just really stupid.

While I really hope they keep her and don't change their name, I do agree that I wasn't too fond. But since the voice actress thought she was acting a male, that's perfectly understandable. So to be honest, I'd assume that they might just change it a little if/when Derpy ever pops up again.
Also, I really like her pose here, it works very well in supporting the expression. Also, it's fricking adorable. xD

I don't think the word Derpy is offensive as a name, however it seems like a lame attempt at getting "in" with the internet culture by using an internet meme. I mean seriously, the show itself is already a meme, the name is unnecessary.
