I feel like I should explain my AU now?? Too explain all his marks and the color of his blood and such??
Basically, instead of Bart dying, like we does in cannon, the kharaa bacteria mutates his body, making him able to live underwater. The marks are from the kharaa bacteria, giving him markings like the creatures, for camouflage and such. He has gills to breathe underwater, his canines are much sharper so he can hunt, his hearing is much better, he can see in the dark, his blood is the same color as the creatures on 4546B, he’s taken on some animalistic traits e.i. will growl sometimes, has an intense hunting instinct, can easily hide in the wild, ect.
In my AU, because of his mutations he survives, though he goes and lives in the middle of nowhere, like, deadzone nowhere. Once Ryley finds the cure to the Kharaa bacteria, he’s helping Her young to spread the stronger enzyme. While Ryley is looking around for creatures to cure, he finds a base, that’s intact, and powered. He grabs his knife and heads inside, that’s where he finds Bart. Bart explains who he is and Ryley just stares in awe.

“Are you okay? What’s your name? Is there anyone else?”
Ryley just stares, he can’t talk. Literally, the metal that hit him in the head in the lifepod messed up his ability to speak. So he just shakes his head and drags Bart outside to the enzyme. Bart follows, confused.

When Ryley found Bart, his markings were much worse, they were bright green all the time, obvious that he had been infected. But once he had the stronger enzyme the marks color dulled, now they only glow when he’s feeling strong emotions and it’s taking a toll on his body.

I think that’s all I need to say now?? I’ll go in depth later.
