You and your friends searched the entire district for any survivors. Reiner is keeping Zeke away from your search team well. He’s struggling, but you believed that he’ll be alright.

“Over there!” Connie pointed towards a crowd of 20 soldiers hiding behind the houses. You and your friends immediately approached the crowd. The scene and emotions wafting around the crowd was sad. Most of them were wailing in despair at the deaths of their comrades... as well as their own demise.

In the crowd, you saw Levi trying to convince one of the soldiers to stand up, but to no avail. He heard you arrive, thus spun around and saw you. “Oi! {L/N}!” he called to you, “Where have you been!? Are you alright!?”.

“I’m fine!” you answered, “Reiner transformed! He’s keeping us away from the Beast Titan, and Armin went to wake Eren!” then explained to him.

“I see...” Levi squinted his eyes in response. “I can’t say in this dire situation, but your soldiers were all dead. Only 20 of us Survey Corps left, including Erwin over there.” he told you, then points towards Erwin who is looking straight at the Colossal Titan.

You’re struck shocked when you heard him say that. All of your trusted soldiers... obliterated in a blink of an eye. You wish you could mourn their deaths, but now is not the time to mourn them. You look around to see if there’s anyone you know. You saw Floch slumped down, crying in despair. He’s always the cowardly one – not too obnoxious like Daz, but still... you can’t stand his complaints.

Then, you saw Marlo – the transferred guy from Military Police. He too is in despair, but not so much crying. Instead, he’s frustrated from being trapped like this.

You continued your search, but don’t see anyone else you know besides them. “Where’s Hanji?” you then ask.

“I don’t know. We’re scattered when that giant a**hole over there.” Levi cursed at the Colossal Titan. “I hope she’s alright, and i don’t wanna know if she’s dead...” he didn’t mean anything bad, even though she annoys him a lot. Hanji is an important person in the Survey Corps. He admitted that he rely on her hunch and plans almost like Erwin. It would be devastating to everyone if she is truly gone.

“You said that Braun was trying to stop that ape from throwing rocks? Meaning, he’s distracting it?” Levi then asks you.

“Yes.”

“Then, it’s our chance to fight back. I’ll go talk to Erwin and see if we can form a counter plan.” he then walks off to talk with Erwin.

You turn back to your friends who is watching intensely at Reiner fighting against Zeke.

“What should we do? His armors were cracked.” Connie asks.

“If we don’t do something soon, we’ll lose Reiner!” Sasha then added.

“Calm down! We have three titans to deal with! What if that four legged one comes to life?!” Jean protested frantically.

“I’ll take four legs.” you told them, “All of you focus on slowing down Bertholdt while Commander Erwin and Levi deal with Beast Titan. Armin and Eren can take care of the rest.”.

Jean walks up to you – angry and frustrated at the same time. “How do you suppose to know?! We’re freaking sitting ducks here and your boyfriend is in danger!” he spat the words at you, and you push him away – griting your teeth intimidatingly.

“You don’t have to be up close and personal, Jean! I know how you feel, and i won’t let any slip of mistake. I’ll do what i can... even if it costs my life!” you firmly told him.

“So you’re just the same suicidal maniac like Eren.” Jean shook his head and laughs. More like he’s laughing at the stupidity of this world. Not mocking you, at least. He’s been through a lot – seeing so many people dying and got his hand dirty during that time fighting against Rod Reiss. You can understand deep down he hasn’t yet matured. But, you are irritated by his attitude.

You look back towards Erwin who is now sitting on a box, talking to Levi. You don’t know what he is talking about, but you could sense there’s something different within Erwin. He’s... contempt... and regret at the same time. You know he already knows the truth, but this battle won’t let him live longer than he wants. Pity, but there’s no other way.

“Oi! {L/N}!” Levi suddenly called you, “We’re about to commence the plan! Get your bottom over here!”.

You complied – walking over towards Levi and Erwin. “What’s the plan?” you ask directly to the point.

“Me and my men will distract the Beast Titan for Levi to maneuver pass the houses then launch his surprise attack. You should focus on preventing Bertholdt from throwing rubbles and keep us away from him.” Erwin suggested.

“I can do that sir.” you nodded, “But, what about that four legs? I mean, that Cart Titan. There’s no telling on when it’ll wake up.” you then ask.

“I believe you have a plan for that.”

You knew that and he believes you are capable to fight against the Cart Titan. Anything to protect Reiner away from any danger, you’ll definitely do it. You’re unsure what the Cart Titan is capable off, but you’re confident with your ability.

“Alright. Let me go talk to my friends.”

“We’ll launch the attack as soon as possible.” Erwin informs you and suddenly a loud thud from a distance caught everyone's attention. Everyone including you peeked over the building and saw Reiner had fallen down. You grit your teeth - wanting to save him immediately, but Zeke is on the way. But, before you could say anything, Erwin had launched his smoke grenades and the soldiers followed suit.

“We will now commence the mission to distract the Beast Titan and Colossal Titan!”

“Our first move is to distract the Beast Titan and blur his accuracy with smoke signals! Once he is distracted, Levi will move his way swiftly to launch a surprise attack towards the Beast Titan!”

“In amidst distraction, {F/N}’s team will move towards the Colossal Titan and swiftly distract him until Armin wakes Jaeger!”

“I know this mission will be our end. But, remember what we came here for! We know the truth and we must protect humanity from those who wish harm! Remember your fallen comrades! Their dedication and sacrifice led us to this moment! We will claim victory for our fallen comrades efforts!”

“Survey Corps! Dedicate your hearts for humanity’s survival! Dedicate your soul to this country and the future! We must protect them! With all our hearts!”

“Give everything you got! For this final battle! Ensure our victory! Dedicate everything you have!!”

“COMMENCE THE MISSION!! FORWAAARD!!”

Erwin’s speech turned the tide in the soldiers from a wailing coward to a roaring soldiers. It was an amazing sight to see the sudden change, and listen to their cry for valor. Though some may still have that reluctant heroes in heart, they stood tall in their position – shooting the smoke signals in unison to distract the Beast Titan’s vision. Afterwards, they scrambled with their ODM gear – constantly shooting smoke signals to create colorful clouds of disarray.

It was easier if they ride on a horse, since they don’t evade that fast. But, with ODM, Zeke is having hard time getting precise accuracy when he threw the rubbles and rocks.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk. What a drag. You think you all can dismay me with smoke signals?” Zeke said in his titan form. He lifts a big chunk of rock and breaks it into small pieces. “You’re 100 years late to defeat me!” then, he threw the rocks at the on coming Survey Corps. The smoke signals gave way and they manage to evade in time. Zeke saw them scramble and none of them were caught by the rocks.

“Ah... Well, i miss this once. Next, i won’t be so easy.”

Zeke kept throwing rocks and the Survey Corps evade. On the far left, Levi is boosting out of Zeke’s sight. His eyes focused on every parts he can cut. Sooner or later, Levi will take over and obliterate Zeke in a matter of seconds.

“There you are, Ackerman!” Zeke sweeps and throws rubble from below his feet towards Levi.

“Shit...!” Levi stops midway and hides underneath the houses.

Zeke found him and rain him down with rocks and rubbles. But, he was distracted yet again by smoke signals. The cycle keeps on going. It’s either Erwin and his soldiers or Levi the one man army. “...This is interesting.” he smirks – sinister eyes darted at Erwin’s force. Then, he glanced towards another force flying fast towards Bertholdt. His lips half open to warn him, but again, he was distracted by the incoming Survey Corps forces – distracting him from warning Bertholdt. “Goddamn soldiers!” he cursed.

Meanwhile at your team, you directed your friends to stay behind Bertholdt and out of sight. Once the hot steam blown by the wind, you launched the surprise attack.

Jean swiftly took the left ankle and you on the right. Mikasa and Sasha followed suit to cut the ankle deeper. Bertholdt did felt he’s losing balance; falling to his knees after the surprise attack. “What the!?” he turn his head and was about to release hot steam. But, you and Mikasa quickly took down his elbow muscle – rendering him into shock.

“No...! I won’t... give up... here!!”

Bertholdt blasted out the hot steam and blew you and your friends into scatter.

“Shit!!” Jean maneuvers and escaped the hot steam. He saw Bertholdt’s hand move and sweeps the street to his left. In that area where he sweeps, Sasha was there... caught by the flying rubbles and impacts. “SASHA!!” Jean screamed.

“NO!! SASHA!!” Connie flies in and catches her – escaping in time.

You saw Sasha got hurt and flies to assess her. But, from the edge of your eye, you saw the Cart Titan starts to move. “Mikasa! Take the lead! I’ll take care that four legs!” you shout to Mikasa, then rewire the hook and maneuver towards that four legs.

The Cart Titan – a.k.a Pieck – slowly rise and lifts her head up to the scene of soldiers scattering above. “Pieck!! Get Reiner!!” Zeke screamed when he saw Pieck woke up.

It took her a moment to gain her composure, then turn to Reiner who is laying motionless in a distance. She stood up on four legs, then ran like the wind towards Reiner. She can’t bite through his armor, but with that cracked back, she has a chance now.

“I WON’T LET YOU!!”

You slashed Pieck’s titan form ear and she jumps to the side. “You’re persistent, aren’t you!?” Pieck glares at you standing on the roof.

“Until my gas is out... Until my blades were dull... I won’t stop fighting! I’ll fight! I’ll keep fighting so i can breathe! I’ll keep breathing so i can fight to protect those whom i love!!” you shouted at Pieck with emotions poured from the flooding bowl, “You might not understand... We face through hell – oppression, war, fear, and darkness – same as everyone else! No one will understand unless we show it how!! If you just leave us alone...! Leave us in peace...! Leave this war behind...! Your life won’t be for nothing!!”.

“Tsk. What a runny mouth you got there. It means nothing in the end...”

“You may choose to believe what you want to believe. I have my own... But, you have no right to reap his freedom!! He has a choice!! He is free to choose!! Traitor or not – it doesn’t matter as long as we’re human!!!” you screamed and brandish your blade to Pieck.

“Reiner is FREE!!”

You lunge forward with blades ready to cut down Pieck. The fury inside you burns with focus – unswayed, undaunted, undefeated. Your mind is clear in this newfound strength. You are ready to face your death or if not, you are ready to fight against anything. That is how you feel right now. To face such strange enemy – not even a single you know about Pieck’s weakness – you are courageous.

Pieck saw how fast you fly and tries to evade, but too late. You reached her limbs in a matter of seconds – cuts down her muscles, bit by bit and preventing her from trying to move.

“NO!! HOW?!”

She jumped far, but still you follow her. “GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!!” Pieck slaps you mid air. Your body glides and hit the ground – ragdolled and skitted along painfully. All of your gear torn off, including your blades. When your body put to a stop, you open your eyes to the sight of your left arm splintered and twisted.

“DDDHHHAAAAAAGGHHH!!” you screamed in pain, but held on as to not cry nor give up. Pieck landed and immediately regenerates her wounds. She approaches you and you got up – trembling and extremely painful. Pieck watches you struggle. Her thoughts somehow reminisces her own past when she was struggling. You grip your left upper arm and limp your way to the blade – grab and points it towards Pieck. “I’m...! Not...! Afraid...! Gggh!” you growled at Pieck.

Pieck pities you. There’s no point in killing you, to be honest. But, she needs to comply to Zeke’s order to capture Reiner and you’re in the way. “I don’t want to kill you. Move.” Pieck said to you in her titan form.

“NO!!” you screamed.

“You leave me no choice then...!” Pieck lunge forward – her jaws open with the intent to bite you.

You close your eyes – ready to face your demise...

“{F/N}!!!”

*KA-BOOOOM!!!*

Pieck’s body flung aside and hit a house – crushing it down. You open your eyes and saw the explosion aftermath. Then, a silhouette of a person lands in front of you. The person looks back and you immediately noticed her.

“Are you okay, {F/N}?!”

“Hanji!”

“I’ll take care this area! You go get Reiner now!!”

Without thinking twice, you start to limp and run towards Reiner. Above you were the soldiers flying towards Zeke – blades ready to slash in unison.

“TAKE THE BEAST DOWN WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT!!” Erwin screamed to encourage his soldiers, “MY MEN, SCREAM FOR FREEDOM!! MY MEN, FIGHT FOR YOUR FREEDOM!! DEDICATE EVERYTHING FOR HUMANITY’S FREEDOM!!”.

Zeke knelt down and roars with his hand dug the rubbles below. He lifts his hand along with the rubbles – sending it fly around with such speed and impact power. The soldiers were in close proximity when it happened – bruised, bloodied, and caught by the fly rocks through their bodies.

Erwin saw those rocks fly and felt it go through his body. He saw his own blood flying and it was his final moments alive – fighting against the enemy along with the soldiers he sacrificed.

From down below, you saw the scene of all of them wiped out in an instant like flies swatted by Zeke. You wish you could do something. You wish you could fight and save their lives, but all of this scene makes you feel powerless. All those courage you built up, all those resolution you thought before, crushed in an instant when they all wiped out.

There’s only you, Hanji, Levi, your friends, and Reiner left in this war. From one hundred soldiers, reduced to this in a blink of an eye. Your soldiers wiped out, the Survey Corps halved. Such power and talent these enemies have. Can this tide be turned? Can we surely win against them?

Your thoughts scatter around as your body still running towards Reiner. You didn’t look back. You didn’t know whether Hanji is keeping Pieck away from you. There’s no going back, but only go forward. Will it be death’s door? Will it be hope? You can only rely on the tides of this battle.

“Reiner!” you called out to him, but there’s no response. You patted his armored skin, but still he could not feel. “Reiner, please wake up…! Wake up…!” you begged – tears rolling down from your eyes. The pain from your splintered left arm and the pain in your heart from losing the soldiers, made you desperate. “Please wake up…! Please…!” you knelt down and start to cry harder. The rumbling battle between three titans against these numbers of soldiers, vibrates your ear. Like a whisper from angel of death, it beckons you to just give up and accept defeat.

“No…! I’m not giving up…! I still have hope…! I still can fight…!” you refuse to give up. You lift your head and patted Reiner once more.

“Can you hear me? I’m not gonna give up! I’m not giving you up after all the trials you’ve been through! I won’t let you go into that dark world! I won’t accept defeat!” you told him in his unconscious state, “Even if my body is bruised… I can’t just accept everything like this…! Even if i die at the end, i could at least know that you’re already truly free. I don’t know what kind of path you chose – soldier or warrior, or anything you choose to believe… I know deep down you’re human inside.”.

You lean your forehead to his skin – pleading softly for him to wake. “Reiner…! Help me…!”

The plead silences the world. Above you is the overlooming shadow from Pieck. You turn your head slowly to meet your enemy’s gaze. It is your the end… Pieck will obliterate the one wall that prevents her from ever taking Reiner back to Marley. You wish you could say something to her about Reiner. It wasn’t you who forced him to stay. It was Reiner’s choice because of his regret from the other time. He may be said that he changed because of you, but you never pressured him to love you nor anything; both of you fall in love at the same time.

You wish you could spend more time… Spend the most of the world here by his side…

But, you need to accept that everything will have to end.

You close your eyes… and ready to meet the angel of death.

“Reiner is FREE!!”

You lunge forward with blades ready to cut down Pieck. The fury inside you burns with focus – unswayed, undaunted, undefeated. Your mind is clear in this newfound strength. You are ready to face your death or if not, you are ready to fight against anything. That is how you feel right now. To face such strange enemy – not even a single you know about Pieck’s weakness – you are courageous.

Pieck saw how fast you fly and tries to evade, but too late. You reached her limbs in a matter of seconds – cuts down her muscles, bit by bit and preventing her from trying to move.

“NO!! HOW?!”

She jumped far, but still you follow her. “GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!!” Pieck slaps you mid air. Your body glides and hit the ground – ragdolled and skitted along painfully. All of your gear torn off, including your blades. When your body put to a stop, you open your eyes to the sight of your left arm splintered and twisted.

“DDDHHHAAAAAAGGHHH!!” you screamed in pain, but held on as to not cry nor give up. Pieck landed and immediately regenerates her wounds. She approaches you and you got up – trembling and extremely painful. Pieck watches you struggle. Her thoughts somehow reminisces her own past when she was struggling. You grip your left upper arm and limp your way to the blade – grab and points it towards Pieck. “I’m...! Not...! Afraid...! Gggh!” you growled at Pieck.

Pieck pities you. There’s no point in killing you, to be honest. But, she needs to comply to Zeke’s order to capture Reiner and you’re in the way. “I don’t want to kill you. Move.” Pieck said to you in her titan form.

“NO!!” you screamed.

“You leave me no choice then...!” Pieck lunge forward – her jaws open with the intent to bite you.

You close your eyes – ready to face your demise...

Pieck’s body flung aside and hit a house – crushing it down. You open your eyes and saw the explosion aftermath. Then, a silhouette of a person lands in front of you. The person looks back and you immediately noticed her.

“Are you okay, {F/N}?!”

“Hanji!”

“I’ll take care this area! You go get Reiner now!!”

Without thinking twice, you start to limp and run towards Reiner. Above you were the soldiers flying towards Zeke – blades ready to slash in unison.

“TAKE THE BEAST DOWN WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT!!” Erwin screamed to encourage his soldiers, “MY MEN, SCREAM FOR FREEDOM!! MY MEN, FIGHT FOR YOUR FREEDOM!! DEDICATE EVERYTHING FOR HUMANITY’S FREEDOM!!”.

Zeke knelt down and roars with his hand dug the rubbles below. He lifts his hand along with the rubbles – sending it fly around with such speed and impact power. The soldiers were in close proximity when it happened – bruised, bloodied, and caught by the fly rocks through their bodies.

Erwin saw those rocks fly and felt it go through his body. He saw his own blood flying and it was his final moments alive – fighting against the enemy along with the soldiers he sacrificed.

From down below, you saw the scene of all of them wiped out in an instant like flies swatted by Zeke. You wish you could do something. You wish you could fight and save their lives, but all of this scene makes you feel powerless. All those courage you built up, all those resolution you thought before, crushed in an instant when they all wiped out.

There’s only you, Hanji, Levi, your friends, and Reiner left in this war. From one hundred soldiers, reduced to this in a blink of an eye. Your soldiers wiped out, the Survey Corps halved. Such power and talent these enemies have. Can this tide be turned? Can we surely win against them?

Your thoughts scatter around as your body still running towards Reiner. You didn’t look back. You didn’t know whether Hanji is keeping Pieck away from you. There’s no going back, but only go forward. Will it be death’s door? Will it be hope? You can only rely on the tides of this battle.

“Reiner!” you called out to him, but there’s no response. You patted his armored skin, but still he could not feel. “Reiner, please wake up…! Wake up…!” you begged – tears rolling down from your eyes. The pain from your splintered left arm and the pain in your heart from losing the soldiers, made you desperate. “Please wake up…! Please…!” you knelt down and start to cry harder. The rumbling battle between three titans against these numbers of soldiers, vibrates your ear. Like a whisper from angel of death, it beckons you to just give up and accept defeat.

“No…! I’m not giving up…! I still have hope…! I still can fight…!” you refuse to give up. You lift your head and patted Reiner once more.

“Can you hear me? I’m not gonna give up! I’m not giving you up after all the trials you’ve been through! I won’t let you go into that dark world! I won’t accept defeat!” you told him in his unconscious state, “Even if my body is bruised… I can’t just accept everything like this…! Even if i die at the end, i could at least know that you’re already truly free. I don’t know what kind of path you chose – soldier or warrior, or anything you choose to believe… I know deep down you’re human inside.”.

You lean your forehead to his skin – pleading softly for him to wake. “Reiner…! Help me…!”

The plead silences the world. Above you is the overlooming shadow from Pieck. You turn your head slowly to meet your enemy’s gaze. It is your the end… Pieck will obliterate the one wall that prevents her from ever taking Reiner back to Marley. You wish you could say something to her about Reiner. It wasn’t you who forced him to stay. It was Reiner’s choice because of his regret from the other time. He may be said that he changed because of you, but you never pressured him to love you nor anything; both of you fall in love at the same time.

You wish you could spend more time… Spend the most of the world here by his side…

But, you need to accept that everything will have to end.

You close your eyes… and ready to meet the angel of death.
