Mei could see the look of nervousness on Ms. Kurosawa's face. He knew that she was always anxious with her daughter, Masami. It didn't help that today was the first day of the ninja academy for the two of them. It wasn't hard to tell how nervous Masami was herself. She would have to be extra careful not to let her secret be known. If the village was to even get a glimpse at her face, it would end in chaos for the Kurosawa's. He grinned at Suki with his toothless grin while he gently held Masami's shoulder in a comforting, big brother like attitude. Pointing up to his face he laughed in a giddily, childish laugh,"They have to get through me first before they even think of hurting my best friend!"
"That's the spirit, Mei-san!" Kimiko exclaimed in joy to her son's bravery.
