This version of Alice is creepy. An Alice envisioned in a morbid world of deviations. I can almost picture the Smiling Cat version and the Mad Hatter, not to mention the queen. It made me revisit the imaginary version of Tim Burtonβs version of the classic tale.
Vision: Love the colors the contrast of them and the image. The image emits innocence with a contrasting loss of it.
Originality: I have seen many poses like it. Yet this one captured my attention.
Technique: Very thoughtful use of colors and photo, it makes it look like a painting.
Impact: I rated it 5 stars!!! I think this speaks for itself. Her eyes seem to be looking straight at you.

As an avid follower of Sleetwealth, I am once again not disappointed. The focal point of the piece, for me, is the brilliant contrast between her soft blue eyes and the encroaching red (in the actual white of the eye and the skin around.) Her bold, plump lips seem to highlight the red undertones on her nose and cheeks as well. There was certainly a magnificent amount of detail put into this work.
I love the fact that this piece is slightly morbid and disturbing in a fantastical and fairytale-like way. It's certainly a dichotomy that captures you right away. The artist has always shown this valuable talent in her art. Every piece, including this one, pushes the boundaries of what is considered comfortable in a tasteful and intriguing manner.
Part of me feels as though the impact of this piece would have been a little more of a punch-to-the-face with a differently trimmed shawl. I love the butterfly looking designs, but I feel like the "retro-ish" shades fight a bit with the deep, thirsty red.
Also, I'd like to comment on how the artist has captured such a beautiful and sorrowful emotion. When you see this girl's face, you want to know her story, but you are scared to know at the same time. I am, once again, amazed.

If I didn't know better, I'd say that this was a painting...
I appreciate the sense of accusation in tilt of the head and expression of the face. The reflections in the pupils and the glisten on the deep red lips adds a haunting and creepy aspect of life as well.
I feel drawn in by the texture and depth of the skin, the subtle variations in color move one's eye around the face to notice every detail without being entirely aware of the action. My gaze keeps returning to the crease under the left eye, there's a something about it.
I can't seem to shake the impression that the piece is unfinished in some way. Maybe that's where I see the accusation, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
I could stare into this face for hours trying to puzzle it out.
