I concure! Soft plastics, quasi organicness and soothing colors are just as likely to be future tech as chrome, blue lights and black consoles!

This is a great design! I love her head gear. They should have expected some organic designs, isn't that what many people think of when they visualize future tech?;; D: Already there are cars and things that look like this even. (Not like women, but...)

Yeah there are alot of soft edge designed cars.maybe I should have made her skin white or grey.

I love robots of anykind ,but Im organic minded so it would be hard for me to think of a hard sharp shapes. Her helmet was inspired by an earlier sketch of mine..totaly diffnert theme ,but I was always facinated by inuldation and layers.

disqualified?! TCH! Because, god forbid, machines ever look organic . . .

That sounds like someone had a personal problem.

I think it's really intriguing and it is clear to me that she's robotic!

Yeah my thought is that for intimate stuff we'd use soft technology. Like design of a ladies razor..rounded,soft colored..not chrome and sharp edges. After all if future women couldnt carry full term we'd want something as natural as possible where we could watch the baby grow.

ThanksI thought it was a cool concept*shrugs* The warm lighted womb and clear breasts are the first clue!

Thank you. Not techny enough I guess.

Pah... Don't these people know that machines will look more and more human in the future? *shakes head*
xD

I agree with ~Ballistyc This would be a fascinating, if not provocative sculpture.

hmm. Ill think about it..though I doubt it would sell it might be a fun project. Not sure what Id use for the clear sections.

kahl In reply to Sleetwealth [2008-08-11 16:57:14 +0000 UTC]

....maybe pieces of clear acrylic eggs or Christmas ornaments would work? They sell fairly cheap in the craft stores...if you cut sections with an X-acto knife maybe...?

Well, if you decide not to sculpt it, the picture is still fantastic!

Good idea. Id like to at least try something based on this. Im sure it would look really realistic with the sculpting skills I have now. It would be especialy fun to sculpt the tiny baby in detail and float it in some sort of fluid.

kahl In reply to Sleetwealth [2008-08-12 19:02:23 +0000 UTC]

Ooh...hadn't even thought of the fluid idea. Brilliant idea. Maybe a gelatin to give it an amniotic quality?

Sleetwealth In reply to kahl [2008-08-14 02:57:48 +0000 UTC]

Yes a slightly thickened fluid. I have to think about what wont erode the clay. I know its been done for snow globes.

kahl In reply to Sleetwealth [2008-08-14 14:20:14 +0000 UTC]

If you coat the inner parts of the clay with epoxy perhaps?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleetwealth In reply to kahl [2008-08-15 03:44:26 +0000 UTC]

yes I can coat the fetus so it could handle a fluid..hmm. I read you can use waterbed conditioner, Eberhard Faber's "preservative" rubbing alchol. karo syrup would work ,but might get gross after a while. I wonder what the stuff is gel candles are made of? there wouldnt be movement inside though.

kahl In reply to Sleetwealth [2008-08-15 16:28:06 +0000 UTC]

I'm not sure about gel candles. I know it has an oil base but beyond that...no idea. Probably some kind of petroleum. Did find this: [link] age=1 and this: [link]

What about Resin? smells horrid and it would harden...maybe you can find a catalyst solution that will keep it somewhat gelatinous?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sleetwealth In reply to kahl [2008-08-17 08:09:12 +0000 UTC]

I dont know if the petroleum would damage, probably just about anything that stays wet would eat through not just the polymer but the plastic egg too. Thank you for the links though ..thats good to know. It would be jelly like and not a thick fluid.
I can use resin they have brands that dont stink much. I thought it would be neat to be able to shake the sculpt and see the baby drift..also the fluids that are kept in the breast pods, but resin is probably the best choice since I can also add bubbles that will stay in place.
Another choice is silicone ,but resin is probably the no brainer.

oh please make a sculpture version of this.....
the design is spectacular
you seriously need to sculpt this,
cause if you don't I will....haha, no I can't do take your design cause that'll be unfair, but you really have to make this though.

The irony of this is I am at present working on a commission of a pregnant nude. Its Rapunzel actauly. So, Im getting some prego practice in.
I really am thinking of making this as a side project. I can at least start making the elements of it ..the baby, various tubes wires and gromits and collecting the things Ill need like a plastic egg or dome of some sort. I think I could bring out a bit more edge trying to add more mechnical to the gynoid. She'd be a nice kit model wouldnt she?

Ballistyc In reply to Sleetwealth [2008-08-16 22:52:44 +0000 UTC]

Kit Model? Oh definitely....she would make a great garage Kit Model.
What I like best though is her Head-piece. Don't get me wrong....I love the pregnant aspect, it's right up my alley, but I love the unique head-structure more. I wonder what inspired that particular design....it's like some external organ.

Her head peice is based on a sketch I did. its hard to explain without seeing ,but I drew images back then of giant crustaceans that had contained a tentacled sea creature.. baby ones used as helmets by inhabitants of that world.
