A lovely piece, and speaking of painting, Rembrandt and Frank Frazetta comes to mind, maybe even Goya.

When i first saw the thumb of this I thought it was an oilpainting. But was pleasantly surprised when I saw it's a sculture!!! Really great work!! Fantastic!!

Thank you. I think she even looks a bit digital paint which is an effect Id like to strengthen in future pieces.

anita--beautiful! a Pre-Raphaelite painting come to life but with those stunning, extra dark and surreal, even horrific elements that you seem always to perfectly blend into your sculptures, making them truly unique and mesmerizing creations. gorgeous.

when I was a teenager I painted portraits in oil paint. so natural skin tones are a strength. You can study that too

Trying it again on this new one. A feral art nouveau queen. I already got a sale for her with just the concept pitch. $1200 so Im looking forward to trying for a more elaborate headdress/helmet/crown and Ill do a classic lady face with arm as with this one .differing pose colors etc. wish me luck!

That's awesome, and good luck! but you don't need it, your work is just stunning and original. roughly how many hours work do you think? (I know that's an impossible question that I get asked on every sculpt)

hahaha I dont work uninterrupted.
It takes me 3-4days to get the face part where Im satisfied and bonding with it ,but I can get it nice in an hr even less. Id say I typically do sessions. of a couple hrs then quit and come back.
maybe 5 to 8 hrs a day.
Say 32 hrs for just sculpt. I could be wrong about time. I totally become unaware of its passage. Then theres sanding, patching any flaws in the clay after cure. Paint. I often paint and sand again then paint again. hair then for do hickys for decoration and or a base.
I spent typicaly 2 weeks to a month but, there are days I just dont work or I order a supply and wait for it. I also have side projects Im always doin a touch to while somethings in the over etc
