Chapter one: Maplesplash was born in the clan of Shadow, Shadowclan. When she was born, she was small, the runt of her litter. Because her mother had white cough while birthing her and her kittens, Maplesplash had gotten it as well. She and her mother recovered, but all of Maplesplash's three siblings died five days after birth, all on a different day.

When training, Maplesplash was given the teacher Owlclaw, one of the warriors in Shadowclan that lived by the lake. Soon after he had finished training her, he retired for the elders den, the tom cat being very old at this time.

The young she cat, fresh out of training, was eager for her first battle, like most young cats where. But when it came, she saw that it was just a pool of blood and pain at her paws, and told her leader she did not want to live in the clans, where blood was always going to be shed and pain spread. RowanStar had offered her to train as a medicine cat, seeing as Littlecloud was not young anymore, and that he would pass on soon. But Maplesplash said that Sootfur and Pinenose's young kit, Tillykit, had been very interested in wanting to be a medicine cat, and that she would most likely take Littleclouds position soon enough.

Maplesplash made her way out of the warriors territory, past Thunderclan, and into the forest beyond. Once there, she came across an old cottage, one meant for twolegs in the season of green-leaf, when most where around. She found a way in through a hole in the cellar door, and made a nest in a stack of blankets, left in an open box.

As she drifted away, her mind began to fuzz, and her consciousness drifting into Starclan, where many clan cats would go when they slept. She trotted around, catching star covered pray, and laying under the warm stars above, which almost felt as warm as the sun. Her ear then flicked as she lifted her head, looking to see a black tom cat, hidden in a cluster of dark, mold covered tree's. She stood up, noticing the tom was smaller then most any cat she had seen, other then an apprentice.

She took a step forth, but he turned and ran off, Maplesplash followed him, but slowly. His scent led her to the edge of the dark forest, and into a blackened place, where twoleg trashcans where scattered about, and long alley ways stretched for many many fox lengths, buildings scattered all about. Maplesplash was scared, and about to turn around, when she saw the tom cat once more, his blue eyes watching her from behind a trash can. The creamy, orange brown she cat stepped forward, her pelt speckled white as she seemed to glow in this dark place. "Hello...? Are you alright?" She called to the tom.

"Go away!" He yelled, in a voice that almost sounded like a kitten for a moment. He then stepped into the open, relieving a large gash in his neck, half covered by a collar that looked as if it where strangling the tom.

Maplesplash then noticed the spikes of cat and dog claws and fangs in his collar, and the fact one of his paws was pure white. She took a step back, her spring green eyes wide in fear. "Y... You're Scourge, from the forest the clan came from... M... My mother told me stories of you... how... how you killed Tigerstar when he was alive and... and how you nearly took over the forest but... but... I thought you didn't believe in Starclan! What are you doing here?" She asked, taking a couple steps back once more.

Scourge gave her a look of both sadness, and regret. "This is not your Starclan... not as you know it... most do not know, but when a loner or house cat dies, they come to a place like this... I was born a house cat, but lived a ruthless alley killer... so I come here, where I can be alone... even the alley cats who where born and lived on the street tend to be in the places where human spirits lay, where they can be treated like over stuffed kittens..." He spat, before backing away, the gash in his neck dripping blood, seeming for a eternity.

The she cat blinked, then tilted her head, taking a step forward. "You... you're alone?" She asked, looking around, not having scented even the smallest of cat scent besides Scourge.

The molly took another step forward, her paw reaching out for Scourge, but he jumped back, hissing at her. As he did this, a flash of what might have been lighting struck, and in that instant, Maplesplash saw a young kitten, his eyes wide in fear, and his bloody, spiked collar replaced with one empty, holding only a large golden bell.

Maplesplash took another step forward, then another, then another, until he was backed up against a wall. He continued to hiss at her, this time his face looking as if he may kill her. She was scared, but she reached a paw forward and touched his bleeding neck and chest softly, the wound stopped dripping as she did this.

She watched as the wound closed up, but did not heal. Her head tilted as Scourge showed a look of shock, and august. Maplesplash looked to Scourge, and smiled. "It's ok... I... I don't like blood or pain... I would never hurt any cat... I... I wanna help you..."

"You can't! I am dead!" He growled to her, jumping away from her and crouching down, his wound bleeding once more, but not nearly as much.

Maplesplash saw this and sat down, looking at her paw, covered in his blood. She closed her eyes and set it down, the blood lifting from her fur and vanishing. The molly smiled and stepped to him again, her tail high as she gave him a warm smile. "You don't have to hide anymore. I wanna help." She made her way over to him once more, pressing her muzzle to his bloody neck and chest.

Scourge lifted his white paw to lash at her, ending her then, but stopped, right as his claw wound have hit her face. Her muzzle started to grow bloody, while his chest was slowly being healed, the wound closing up once more, and nearly vanishing, leaving only a deep scar.

The she cat pulled away, and his wound staid closed and less raw and fleshy then it had been. Maplesplash smiled and sat down, the blood on her muzzle lifting up into the air, and vanished like it had done on her paw. "See. All better!" Scourge looked at his chest, lifting his white paw to it, touching it for a moment as his eyes filling with tears for just a second.

He then looked away and sighed, before looking at her once more, his once needle sharp blue eyes giving her a constant glare, where now looking at her in thanks.

Maplesplash then scooted herself closer to him, nuzzling his shoulder for a moment before smiling, her eyes glowing happily. As she did this, a ring of pink and orange cosmos flowers bloomed on her head, like a tiara.

Scourge smiled reluctantly, and lowered his head a bit to her, smiling as well, lifting his paw to press at her chest, but he felt nothing. His eyes opened once more, to see that Maplesplash was fading away from his vision, the molly waking from her dreams.

Maplesplash opened her eyes, finding herself in the dark cellar of the twoleg place once more, a thick stream of light flowing in through the hole in the cellar door above. She smiled, sitting up as she spoke out softly. "I'll be back later to help again, if you need it..."
