Quick thing I did just to explore the new cubs from that one Disney Junior video. Lots of folks are adding them to their headcanons as parts of pre-existing families and I respect it, but I prefer making them completely unrelated from the other characters, since you don't see it all that often. The Pridelands feel a bit empty lion-wise, since Disney missed every opportunity to officially expand on other lions in the Pridelands. FFS, they add wayyyyy more non-lion characters than lion characters which is crazy for The LION King.

Anyway! These little freaks are a trio of adoptive siblings, orphans who banded together for survival, often stealing food from others and picking at their leftovers, and eventually were taken in by the pride!

We have Unyasi (meaning 'grass'), the oldest brother. As such, he's the unspoken leader of their little group, but he's far from stern. He's just as fun-loving and mischievous as his siblings. (I tried so hard to make him NOT look like your typical Kopa, but it's really impossible if I want him to still be recognizable.)

Uchafu (meaning 'dirt') is the youngest sibling. He's small, naive, and really just the baby. He admires his siblings a lot! (He's yellower than Kion and that's crazy to me.)

And Jani (meaning 'leaf') is the middle sibling and the boys' sister! She likes to make up games to play. (She's intersex and sprouting whiskers as a result - I know all lions have whiskers but let's think more in design and cartoon logic!)

They're all a little dimwitted. Their names are meant to reference them being "commoners" as well as their scrappy nature. I like to think they're something like the Three Diablos to Kion's Puss in Boots.
