Description
Hello, again. This is just a little test for how we should start laying out the screens of the game. We want to try and stick to Oddworld's intended 100 screens, but you still need a balance of achievement and excitement.
We like the idea that our little albino slig, new to the world and barley escaping death first time blunders down a pip into a room. Slig's don't like the airborne pollutants, and here he is without a mask.
But lucky for you, a screen with handy hints on how to move and get a mask to stop your little slig from dying of asthma is all on the screen. But without pants, he'll still need to be careful. so move on to the next screen to seek your fortune in pants.
Your 'lil outcast slig finds that some being has left handy graffiti, telling you how to hide in shadows. And lucky for you, once you do, a patrolling slig comes along! keep still and move one wiggle at a time and he may not see you...
and that's all for now! come back soon to see more in the future!

I agree with everything said above. Continue the awesome work. As you said, you're not programmers, and you probably don't have concidered which engine to use if this game was ever to be made. Still, I'd recommend Unity . I saw a 2D game (Sonic Fan Remix) made with this engine and it looked damn impressive. The full version can be downloaded for free here at the official website . I'm sure it can do wonders if put in the right hands

Yes! we have actually been playing with Unity and we're pretty sure we'll be using it to further develop this game.

Not so much a a game as the concept of a game. We're not programmers or coders, sow e can't actually make the game work. we can do all the visuals and animations but with out musicians or programmers all we have is some pretty concept art. if we ever get time, we hope to at least get some full length 'cut-scenes' and basic animations done.

Yes, I have to agree with what GlacierDragon said four months back or so. This simple concept drawing, really does capture the feel of the first two Oddworlds, that feeling that drew me into Oddworld and what was lacking in Munch's Oddysee.
Me, I personally prefer stylizations and caricatures since that's the only thing I'm truly capable of doing, and I could never hit that same amount of detail, but this is still just great. Hope to see more sometime.

Thank you! and considering I see this as very lacking in detail, hopefully you'll be impressed when we do more detailed and focused level drawings and game play mechanics.

Oh cool X)
Again you've really managed to capture the spirit of Oddworld, a lot of people loose that in their art but here it's as clear and vivid as the actual games.

That's a real good thing to hear! We really try and keep to the message and style of the games. If you're going to do a serious fan-based work, we feel that it should keep to what the base idea was whilst introducing new but plausible elements. Or else your in danger of alienating not only otehr fans, but your work form that or the initial inspiration.
