Pfft, yep. Of course I have a story to tell relating to this of course XD
Ok, so when my father was a teenager he worked for a farmer during the summers. This farmers grew fruits called citrons and made my father and uncle go out in the fields all day to harvest them. Mind you, in order to find these things, they had to walk until they tripped over one and then they'd know where they are. Also, these things look just like watermelons and are even larger. So anyway, one day they were loading the citrons into a truck next to a street to bring back to the farm house when a car drove up and a large black man (excuse the term please) walked up and said:
"How much ya payin' for one of 'dem watermelons?" The farmer responded:
"Those ain't watermelons sir. Those be citrons."
"Don't you go tryin' ta tell me those aren't watermelons, they be the biggest darn watermelons I've ever seen! Now hand 'n over and name your price!" At this point the farmer had realized that it was useless, and thus handed a citron over to the man for him and his family. The second the black man had paid and sped away in his car, the farmer looked at my dad and said:
"You two had better get yo asses in dat truck now! We need ta be faaarrr away from h'er when that guy gets back! When he gets home, cuts open dat fruit and sees that ain't a watermelon, he's gonna come here pissed as hell." So yep... don't try to tell an African American what is and isn't a watermelon, at least not in that day and age. It's definitely changed since then, but racism still exists and for reasons like the previous there is the stereotype that African Americans are the watermelon experts. Mind you, I'm NOT racist myself, this is what my dad told me! Anyway, hope this gave you a good chuckle, your friend's statement just reminded me of this story XD

Yeah, sounds like an interesting conversation! I don't know what I'd do if someone just asked me to randomly be their friend, being antisocial, I'd prob be creeped out more than anything XD
Haha, my dad is glad you liked his story. He was looking over my shoulder when I asked him how to spell citron. Darn it.

Woo, sounds like it. Yeah, I'm adopted and my birth father is in jail for life because he raped my birth mom when she was 14 and he was 28 which resulted in me. So yeah, glad that he's not in my life and that I actually have a caring father.

Yeah, weird and uncomfortable! Imagine what I felt when I met him for the first time, yeesh that was one of the scariest times of my life. I didn't say anything, just looked at him. He stayed quiet as well, just staring... Yep, weird in indeed. Don't worry though, he was behind bars. Of course, I only went to see him for my own sake, just to be able to close that chapter of my life. Never want to do it again though!
As for my birth mother, she was wonderful! She definitely had much room for me in her heart and was so very ecstatic to meet me finally after all those years. Of course, I don't like physical contact so when she hugged me I was extremely uncomfortable. Other than that though, I'd say it was pretty good. But yes, same as my birth dad, I don't want to do that ever again.
So yeah, there's my little life's story thingy!

Lol, no prob, I answer these questions all the time with my friends at school. For starters, yes I always knew that I was adopted. My parents were kind enough to not keep it a secret. I have always lived with my adoptive parents, in other words not with my birth parents. My birth mother had me when she was 15 and she knew she couldn't support me so she found a better home for me, which is where I happily live now. I really lucked out big time XD I even picked up my birth family's artistic abilities from making violins to drawing. So yep, that's me! Many other adoption stories are a lot worse, so I thank my lucky stars that my story is actually a happy one!
