Yeah, part of me wanted to keep it as mysterious as possible, but I had a story in my mind when I was drawing it. It's basically a Solar Empire scenario world, where Celestia has gained absolute control over the Equestrian monarchy, and issues a warrant for Luna's death after she flees Canterlot. Luna goes into exile, laying low in the outskirts of Equestria, and tries to disguise herself to avoid being seen.

Also, I just noticed that dagger gleaming there - going for the jugular.
You're very subtle when you put things into your pictures. I always have to look at it a few times before I see everything, and even then, there are some many compelxions and shades of unknown that still leave you guessing.

It's just a random pic.
But I had a story in the back of my mind when I was working on it. Basically, it's set in a world where a corrupted Celestia has gained absolute control over Equestria, and issues a death warrant for Luna, after she escapes Canterlot. Luna goes into exile, lays low, and must wear disguises to avoid being recognized and killed.
