Ok well if you stick it in there, there's a tool on the left side. Now it will either look like a black lollipop (if you hold your mouse over it, it will read 'Dodge Tool'), a hand (Burn Tool) or a sponge (Sponge Tool) depending on what its set on at the moment.
You want the sponge.
So if it's not on sponge already right click on it and click the sponge. Now that you have it selected you'll see it just sucks all the colour out of the image. Just keep sucking it all out till its completely black and white. Don't go over the blue on the eye if you want to leave it blue though.
Something else that will make the image look crisper and nicer is the Brightness/Contrast tool. To get to that, look up the top, go to:
Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast. Pull the little 'Contrast' triangle to the right. Work out how far you wanna put it by watching what it does to your photo.
