hey photographer...there are too many reasons why we carry the memory box around with us
and keeping the sentimental moments close to our hearts is easy for us...made easier with a flash of imagery
a remembrance of something else, another time
treasures in our hearts
holding ourselves to the iron when we fail of words since for us our yes is yes, just words flying in and out of gray matter
until eyes meet eyes...then guilt...then renewed promise

so busy

busy is good.
is noble like the bee.
*
humans have the capacity to preserve a persons impression for thousands of years.
long forgotten the dead become--'cept for the grey stone etchings of their name --poor paraphrase par James Joyce.
*
looking through photos--stuffed in those boxes.
its more then sentiment. perhaps.

may you stay forever busy.( and young)

I say sadly so--because I haven't posted any new stuff here
though I have in the link above...and still have a roll I am working on...I just haven't finished it.
If you want to see newer stuff it will be above.

I believe you did say such.
I must say--the book is really cool.
I keep getting one for myself ...but whomever visits me--winds up taking it.
U know--I am tres self critique...but I am really confident with my holga work...
If all I have that speaks for me is such--It should be enough.
Though its a frightening thought that one might just have, 'one hit wonders...'and leave it at that.
how terrible a thing to settle for that.

the series this comes from is from my first hand or should I say --eye--to a holga. I had no clue what it did or how to use it. All I knew was it allowed multiple exposures. So I went mad crazy shooting...
I wish there were a way to count how many layers I actually got in each frame...

Sometimes we should not master the technique, but only let flow our imaginations.
And what is better as to get an emotional high by take pictures ??

I would love to get my hands on a Holga - (that sounds a little odd) I think that the effects that it can produce are amazing - You can try and simulate the effects with Creative Studio however you don't get that raw feeling about it - You once said that you liked Satie's Gnossienne 1 - well for me Holga shots remind me of Satie's music and more specifically with a touch of Rex Ilusivii [link]

They aren't too expensive...other then having to develop the film. But for reasons including what you say--they are so worth it.
There is a distinction with film and that little plastic toy.
are you familiar with susan burnstine...she makes her own cameras---[link]

I shall visit that link asap--
despite the fact that he composed so little --what he left us remains forever.

PERFECT...
really creepy with the added ambient sounds.
while looking at this only makes it more --- dark--like years gone by--left unattended to...but haunting in the background...like empty carts --deserted during icy storms...useless--jetsam...
bystander--bids a greeting...
while yellow cabs crash into facades...
but even there bright colour does not
erase the blight...of November nights.

music is over...

Glad you got the message Stef - That piece of music in itself is a work of art with so many captivating and hypnotic layers - I see in some of your work this quality and it is something that I aspire to myself - And so we continue our journey...

i dont think life can be any other way...
there are too many dimensions--
and both conclude that too many fail to see beyond the obvious...so--that some do...
