Winners CircleHere is my attempt for the TMM Assignment 1. Hope you all like it. Everything apart from the smoke and the beams of light were cut using the pen tool which I'm slowly learning to love
Most of the techniques used were as a result of visiting SurrealPSD www.surrealpsd.com/ an amazing set of tutorials. I started with the title "When Time Stands Still" and eventually changed it to this as the stock actually moved me in that direction.
The stoker and stoke hole in the background were created by me because there was no stock available.
I'm hoping I have produced a coherent and not too cluttered work, but I'm not sure so please be brutal and let me know what you think
The journal thing... erm some people are naturally good at keeping up to things like that, I did try I even managed a couple of entries but then I forgot big time while uploading stock so I'm not sure how much I did on each thing. So my best estimate would be at least 18 hours but most likely a lot more as I was quite deeply involved in this one

Excellent work. Have you put this side-by-side with one of your earlier manips? You will clearly see how you have improved... amazing

Not so sure if I dare, I see a vast improvement already, the lines are so clean. The pen tool is truly amazing, I did use the magic wand once to select the background of the smoke, but that was only so I could use the refine edge tool which is also amazing especially when it makes the smallest strands of hair pop out of the background.
