"Is this a weird blend of a 404 web error and a bluescreen!? …Why?"

Because why not??

You are free to download and use this artwork noncommercially and edit it however you please. Consider it a dA-meme. It is available in 4K (3840x2160) resolution.

My only requirements for its usage: 1. Do not delete the link to the original template in its lower right, and 2. Do not use it with AI.

Optionally: Link me your submission/deviation if you use it as I'm very very curious how people will utilise it.

You can definitely do the latter as a comment under this deviation! Maybe some of my watchers or people stumbling over this deviation will spot your art that way! Let's promote another!

What is there to edit?

For instance the following:

Fill out the "percent-complete" status of your art (or ditch that line entirely and replace it with something funny)!
Fill out the "QR-code area" with your own website, your dA-avatar, artist nick, a photo of what caused the mishap – whatever represents you and the problem!
Make up a funny but accurate "stop code", like ARTIST_UNEXPECTEDLY_OUT_OF_HOUSE, or ARTIST_SPILLED_COFFEE_OVER_LAPTOP
Something else that's funny that you thought of!

What situations can this be used for?

Turned sick and late with a seasonal artwork? Let your watchers know in a funny way that it'll be delivered by chance!
Overloaded with work and not getting to that one artwork you so badly teased for the past few weeks? Crop a teaser of it and put it into the QR code area, note the status/% and explain your delay in the stop code section!
Want to let your commissioner know that their commission is in the works? Post it and update the % and the stop code if something causes hiccups! – okay, well, this one might be sensitive unless it's a friend.
But why not spice up the moments of silence when one has nothing that's ready to submit? Let's take life a little more… lightly rather than feeling blue– oh. Uh… well, you'll surely find a way to use it.

Why did I mix 404 and the bluescreen even though the two do not have anything in common?

Well, dA is a web service, you are uploading to a web service. So if something cannot be found, 404 is logical. If this is because of a local problem (troubles for you, the artist), then a bluescreen is logical because "something happened – and it was not expected" – this could be anything from hardware failure to getting sick and suddenly having no time, family matters getting in the way, money, etc, etc.…

So I took both, added both and… that's the unholy meme outcome. Makes sense with this in mind, right?

And this is my 404th artwork submission here on deviantART!

PS: You may have noticed that I did not label it as Creative Commons. This is merely because I did not see the license as fully applicable. Absolutely nothing to fear though! I will not DMCA you if you use under the specific usage conditions described above (so unless you repost the template 1:1 without my permission and edit the link out or use it with AI, I actively encourage you to download and edit it).
