Description
My challenge entry for the fourth Planet of the Apes motion book challenge .The task was to continue this comic page by akreonΒ provided with the challenge. This is my attempt at it.
The apes decide to help the boy and lower the blunt ends of their spears to help him get out of there, but just as he reaches for it and comes closer, getting used to the bright light, he realizes they aren't fellow survivors - but apes...!
Looks are exchanged and the ape extends his hand. Hesitantly and quite scared, the boy reaches out for it.
Will this encounter change the way apes and humans think of each other and establish a base for a peaceful contact...?
I tried to stick to the artstyle of the original comic page to create a coherent and fitting continuation to it. I made sure to stick to the colour palette of the original page as well. Overall, this was quite a fun experience and allowed me to get out of my comfort zone a bit and try a different style for a change, one I didn't really have a properly tweaked workflow for!
I hope you like it!
Sly.

Thanks!
I'm not sure if there will be more, it was just for the PotA challenge, but life can be unpredictable so⦠We'll see.

As I said before, not really creative. BUT masterful capture of the original style.

Yep, certainly not creative, admittedly, I was lacking ideas.
To compensate for that, I tried my best with the style, glad this paid off. Thank you!
