Jokes aside, this is a photorealistic interpretation of a very cute ambient creature from the (highly influential and industry-changing) old Unreal from 1998, the namesake of the Unreal Tournament spinoffs and the now famous Unreal Engine .

I actually made this photomanipulation in 2022, but I never shared it outside of Unreal modding communities. I guess now's the right time to do so with it being the hippity-hoppity season and the Year of the Rabbit!

By the way…

If you like first person shooters, I can wholly recommend that game. It's an atmospheric masterpiece and a game that was way ahead of its time. It shaped the video game industry (and other industries too) in ways that only few games managed to by being the one title that introduced the first Unreal Engine to the world, kickstarting a story of success. The gameplay can be likened a lot to Metroid Prime, including its side dash / dodge move (though via double tapping a movement key here), so if you enjoyed Metroid Prime, definitely give this a shot!

Sadly, Epic Games delisted the game franchise that kickstarted their engine on December 23, 2022, for cryptic reasons. So now it's not only just overlooked (especially in influential '90s shooter rankings), but also difficult to get a hold of. If you do get it, make sure to install the latest oldUnreal 227 patch , it's the most official patch you can get and badly necessary to run it without issues on modern hardware.
