Merry Critmas
OK, this is pretty darn cute. Love the snowman, love the cats, especially the expression on the one being held. I've had many years of cat ownership where I could've used a dedicated tree so they stopped playing with the real one...
The way you've done the snow is really effective, how it blocks out the line art. Good stylistic choice. It might give the image more depth and consistency if the snow on the trees also had shading, like on the ground, but it might look too cluttered, I'm not sure. It's also a bit odd that the ice cubes are totally opaque; I'd expect there to at least be a smudge of green where the top one sits in front of a background tree.
The colourful sky is a nice touch and highlights the falling snow well. Good work overall!

Omg how could I forgot the shading on the snow?? Thanks for pointing that out! And I'll certainly take in your other insights as well. Thanks so much, teammate! May Poinsettia Pikes WIN!

Not exactly, It snows, it rains a day later and it's gone
I suspect it's making up for all the cold days last year.

Hello hello teammate. It's been a long time since I used Illustrator for anything, so bear with me as I try to remember how this works. (Also, assuming you're using a tablet with this. I really hope I'm right.)
Overall, cute concept - anything's better with cats added, and that even includes Christmas decorations. I think you've picked a good setting for the brush you're using. The brushstrokes are smooth but not so vectorized that they don't come off as hand drawn. The snowman holding the cat on top particularly has a great sense of line that stands out well against the background, which is great since it's the focal point.
I did find all the white lines to be a bit busy, and as heartdialect mentioned the cats blend in to the background (more so the ones on the trees, tbh didn't notice the top one at first, which is a shame because the pose is great). I get what you were going for with the snow on the trees, but might consider turning the background ones more into blobby shapes instead of those individual lines. I do appreciate the effort, but I think it ends up distracting from the central focus. I do like the variety of white dots/lines in the sky, but would be interested to see what that would look like with fewer. Although don't touch the circles, I love the circles.
In general though, I think you have a good fluid touch with linework, and you've picked the right settings to make it work in Illustrator.

Merry Critmas from the Poinsettia Pikes !
As someone who has held a cat up to a Christmas tree in the hopes they would climb in and make a cute nest or something, I totally get that snowman. It’s a tree! Cats have claws! They should be a purrfect match! Plus there’s shiny things to bat, as the bottom cat is doing. And the middle cat looks excited, so all seems to be going well.
I have a couple concerns though. First, there’s at least two “snowflakes” in the sky that are just circles. If there was only one I would think it was the moon, because that bigger one on the left looks about the right size. Second, I don’t entirely believe the top cat is just walking on ice of that slope. I can believe in a magical ice ribbon slope, but not in a cat not sliding down it. Third, and this is a very minor quibble, the snowman’s left hand seems to be doing a floaty Rayman no-arm thing. Or is that black line its arm? I thought it was the line between the snowballs.
Otherwise it’s a great, cute picture. The sky looks great, the trees look good, the snowdrifts look fine and all the Christmas-y emotions are evident. You could maybe sell this to a Christmas card company?

Hehe.. that just-circle 'snowflakes' actually a bit of random touch I got when I was working with Illustrator's blob brush, looks cute so I left it there, but I guess you got a a point - it's not really clear what the object is, I got it. And yeah the black line is the arm, I suppose I needed to make it more apparent, good point. Thanks so much for the critiques and compliment, teammate, I'll think about it all for my next work.. and probably selling this to a card company too, good idea!

Hello fellow Pike! I'm here (as you very well know) to give you a critique in the spirit of Critmas 2018!
When I first look at this piece, I think the concept and the way you drew it is extremely adorable! Everything has a really clean outline as well as great shading; it definitely reminds me of something I'd see on the cover of a holiday card at Hallmark . My favorite part of this is one-hundred percent the snowman holding the cat. The way you've done the snowman's face and scarf are on point (especially the orange nose)! The background is also quite unique. Considering this is a Christmas themed piece, I wouldn't really think that one would use a sunset/sunrise background, but you've made it work very well. I can hardly think of anything you need to improve on...maybe just make the cats on the tree a bit more distinguishable? Since they are white, they blend in with all the snow pretty well...maybe a bit too well! Other than that, I genuinely think there is nothing else you should change. Great job, and have a lovely new year!

Ah yes, the cats, actually I intended to make them 'snow cats' you know, just like the 'snow man' who came out magically alive from snow, but I guess I need to work on that impression or probably just distinguish the cats altogether.
Thanks so much fellow poinsettia soldier, have an awesome new year too!

(Disclaimer: I’m not a visual artist but I’m going to try my best to give you a critique! In the spirit of Critmas, you know?
This is quite an adorable illustration.
A few nice touches: I find the snowman especially charming. I like the fact that he’s shielding himself from the cold with a hat and scarves and gloves and boots! It feels a tiny bit ironic because he is by nature a creature of the cold. But know that the irony makes it all the cuter.
)
I thought the ice cubes were a nice touch as well — it fit the whole winter theme. (I do wonder if they’re a bit too big when they stand in comparison with the size of the Christmas tree and the snowman.)
I appreciate the pop of colour in the sky! I think it was necessary to liven things up. Otherwise, the image would have been largely white and green.
Areas for improvement: Because the kitties are white, they blend into the background instead of standing out or at least drawing some attention to themselves. Perhaps you could colour them in?
I noticed that the kitties didn’t have mouths and am wondering why. I think they would be a lot cuter with one.
That’s about all I have for now, Pike Pal! Merry (belated) Christmas and I do hope you have the loveliest year ahead.

For a non-visual artist actually your crits are well-grounded. Yeah I suppose you've got some valid points here, I shall think about them for my next illustration. Thanks so much, teammate!
Btw I noticed you almost forgot to post this today? And it's supposed to be for 30/12 not 29/12 daily challenge.
