Reminder/Update:
Last day get those entries in!
Hi Everyone! So there is just under two weeks for you to get your entries in! I would like to take this time to let you know, that if your partner BAILED on you but you got your part done, feel free to re-pair!
Note that all of the parings down there in the comments are not written in stone. It is not even required to "Sign Up" for the contest, I just keep track of people who want to be paired and well people decided they wanted to sign up, so I made a list.
Also, if you are unable to get a partner but you have made your portion, please submit your work into the folder!
It's Here!
The Fifth Annual Awareness of the Arts Contest
Remember The Theme for This Year is: Beauty in the Mundane
The Con
This is the illustration of my partner's writing Meterious :
Imagination
Her polished armour shone like a mirror as she strode to the frontline, passing both men and women who had taken up arms to defend their home from the vicious Northmen. Aiko had almost forgotten that only a few weeks ago most of these people hadn’t even lifted a sword, let alone fought in a battle. Yet here they were, relying on her to lead them to victory. The weight of that responsibility weighed heavy on her shoulders, almost making her forget about the steel armour that encased her body.
Reaching the front, Aiko spotted one of her lieutenants, the broad-shouldered Fredrich von-something. She’d forgotten the rest, so she just called him Freddie. Noticing her, the knight straightened up and glided over with surprising grace for someone who was wearing heavy armour.
Removing his helmet, he frowned at her, his black hair fluttering in the wind. “I hope you
Theme: "Beauty in the Mundane"
Our idea is about how children's imagination could be easily sparked by mundane things like kitchen utensils to create some make-belief stories of a battle in a fantasy land, which is 'reflected' in another mundane things like water puddles after the rain which depicting what's really in the mind of these children while playing in the ordinary real world. It's about creating magical worlds unconstrained by reality, treasuring the gift of imagination by which we can always see the beauty in the mundane, no matter how bleak real life or simply the weather might seem (expressed in the less saturated / duller colors on the top part of this illustration).
Also check out the rotated 180° (not flipped / mirrored) version here:
Ah gad this took days and ENDLESS HOURS (while also working on other projects though.. thank goodness Meterious had a clear vision on the story details so that already saved A LOT of brain energy lol) my hand hurts I sooo stop drawing for a week from now!
Constructive comments are welcome!

This is fantastic! I love the style you've chosen for this piece and it really suits the theme. I can just imagine this as an illustration for a kids book and I'm very impressed with how quickly you got this done. A lot of hard work has gone into this and it really shows.
Thanks for giving this your all Slyther. You took my idea and ran with it perfectly!

Thanks so much! It actually took days in between stuff so after this I'm going to have a good looong rest lol. One of my dreams is to be a book illustrator so I imagined working for a client, glad you catch the feels.
You're very welcome, you're amazing as well with clarifying every character in the brief that I could paint all these in details, that story deserves more than 1,000 words.
