Let me explain a bit. It is a well known fact that Merkel is sort of afraid of dogs. So when several years ago Putin breaking all unspoken rules let his labrador stay during the whole meeting, she really got pissed off. [The author of the article suggested that Putin did it on purpose, as an innocent act of revenge.] By my version, after she back home she "played" with Ludwig doggy style to release tension. He called it GDR mode, because it is kind of aggressive and Merkel was born in Eastern Germany.
