Yes, I've made my first wa skin for this year.I'd say it's time for a party
.No labels on the main and eq, I think everyone know what all the buttons are these days, and there's enough others that do have them.
Thanks to Bobo for the name of the skin.
And ofcourse all the guys over @ breed who saw the
skin through it's process of being made,
and gave some good pointers

no labels is really a bad idea.
a big no-no in interface design.
assuming that people already know what an anonymous looking button would do is a bit... uhmmmm... arrogant... on the EQ it could even be acceptable, the position of the slides is enough to give an hint on their meaning, but the lack of labels on the main windows simply makes the skin unusable.
very slick looking, but totally worthless.

Lol, well, I'm Sorry you feel that way. I mean, there's enough skins out there that do have them so why be bothered then? Anyway, I'm sorry then for assuming people know what the buttons are (prev, play etc) because winamp has been around for like 10 years or something.
The reason I didn't put any labels on the main and eq is simply because I think it screws with the design of the skin, I wanted a clean look on it. I did put labels on the PL because most people (incl me) don't remember what it all means.
Another thing is, I've made 35 winamp skins over the last years, so it probably has something to do with me knowing all of the buttons, and having made labels on about 90% of them. If you find that arrogant, so be it.

i just a couple of days ago erased my collection of vintage winamp installers, dating back to the 1.something, so i know quite well that winamp has been around for a lot of time. but this doesn't mean that every potential user has been exposed to it and it has been exposed long enough to memorize the order of the buttons (heck, i still always mess around with the shuffle and repeat buttons).
speaking from a designing point of view assuming that the users already know how to use your interface enough that they don't need any kind of pointer to the function of a button[*] is an error. period.
[*] i'm not speaking of plain text here, there are a lot of possibilities. think about the EQ, the position of the slides is enough to know how it works because it makes sense, it's not arbitrary as in the main console.
is the skin looking good? absolutely, the graphic is amazing!
is the skin usable? uhmmm... don't think so.
there will surely be someone willing to use the skin, i've no doubt about that, but i'm trying to look at it from a more general point of view.

If you don't find it usable enough, well, I'd have to say tough luck. Since I've made too many skin for others to like, I'm in the state that I just make them to my likings. Sure I know that probably won't be appreciated by everyone, but yes, then I'm arrogant enough to say, go look for another skin (I am an arrogant Dutch guy
I can still think of a lot of things to say about it, but come one, it's just labels on a skin here :/
Still thank you for the comment though, it does show me that people do find the labels important enough to comment about it.
So I'll keep it in mind with any future skin

and btw, checked it out. it has a much beter windscreen then most ive seen....in that it acctuly becomes a small bar. ive seen a lot there it just takes on slighly diffrent demensions but still manages to destory everythnig astheticaly pleasing

I like the tribal looking stuff too, I like the way it 'dodges' the kbps and khz readings, good design. Oh and the buttons are very slick
