Much like how the Virtual Console let's you download SNES, GBA, and other past titles on the Wii U, you can now download Wii games and you can even play them with the Gamepad and not have to go into the Wii mode. Β So far the only games you can get are:

I actually kinda forgot there were a few Gamecube games ported to the Wii to sample the motion controls, and the first two Pikmin games were among them.
I do kinda wonder if the NX would port the first three games, call it "Pikmin Trilogy" in similar fashion to Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii, and include the short films as a bonus feature. Or at least make all Wii U physical and downloadable titles backwards compatible.

It is kinda odd considering Wii games are of higher quality than Gamecube games, meaning it shouldn't be that hard to port Gamecube games over to the Wii U.

If it does it wouldn't really matter since the Wii U is stronger than both. Β It should be able to handle Gamecube games.

from what I've heard people told me, the Wii games are being ported on account of the WiiU already having Wii specs, it's easier to port those games onto it than it is for GameCube games. at least thats what I heard.

Well whatever the case is, we'll just have to wait and see if Gamecube games will be ported to the Wii U. Β And if they don't, maybe the NX will be able to get them.

I'm hopin they do some third party releases like Okami, Zak and Wiki, Tatsunoko VS. Capcom, Castlevania Judgment (say what you want, I love that game) No More Heroes 1 and 2, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, Mad World, and many others.

Yeah, Xenoblade Chronicles was originally a Gamestop exclusive buy, so it's understandable that many people didn't get the chance to play it the first time around.

The only one of these I'd consider getting would probably be Kirby's Epic Yarn since I haven't played it. (Come to think of it, aside from Sin and Punishment, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, and Xenoblade Chronicles, I haven't played any of these games xD) I know Dolphin is an option, but I rather support the official release.
