I really like the impact and emotion given in this render. I also like the way you mixed your cartoon-ish characters with a photorealistic surface, though maybe you could use some of the photorealistic methods for your characters too, just so they would have a better "interaction" with the viewers. Whatever man, keep it up with the astounding work!
