A little off-topic: I personally think the only phantoms that were real were Phantom Puppet (due to having a reflection) and Phantom Mangle (due to not being listed in the extras).

The bite of 83 is an interesting theory, but there's two problems with it:
The Mangle is present.
Only the bite of 87 was mentioned. They never talked about the bite of 83.
Although, it would explain The Puppet's resemblance to the crying child...

The Mangle in 4 could've easily just been a toy, and remember, Fazbear entertainment had previously covered up at least 1 springlock incident and, most likely, the first missing children incident (considering it's now confirmed the toys are haunted and there's at one point mention of the incident despite PG not being in jail, along with a few other details, I've concluded the one we heard about in 1 was actually the second incident). Who's to say they couldn't cover up a minor accident that was literally the BEST of the incidents?

Perhaps, but you have to keep in mind, The Mangle DID in fact exist exclusively in 87. The establishment from the 2nd game, the only one to feature the toy animatronics, was only open for a few weeks. Not 4 years.
Also, Scott's teasers kept saying the numbers 8 and 7.
Personally, I think the whole "Fredbear and Friends" thing was just a recording, from a show based on the old location, where the first murders occured. Scott probably put it there so that we would know when the first location was in business, during the missing children incident.
The presence of the spring suits in 1987 can also be explained:
The cassette recordings from the 3rd game mentioned that the spring suits were going to be checked on by their technician. I'm pretty sure that the spring suits were fixed by the time it was 1987.
Phone guy even CONFIRMED that at least on of them existed during FNAF2. A spare yellow suit in the back, as he put it.
Also, the original 4 animatronics are haunted because they had the kids bodies stuffed inside of them, as phone guy did mention that they smelled bad.
Can't say the same about the toy animatronics though. There's no confirmation that the other 5 dead kids were stuffed in the suits.
Nonetheless, I like this little debate we're having, sharing our thoughts and theories.
