Since Zangoose is a Ruby exclusive 'mon and I've always preferred Sapphire, I haven't been able to have one in my Hoenn team until I played Omega Ruby last year. I had a female Zangoose named Claire (named after Lightning's real name in FF XIII, though I haven't played that game either...). A shiny version would have looked great, but I didn't have the patience to start hunting/breeding for one.
Ironically, I found numerous shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Sun before I had even obtained the shiny charm AND when I was doing anything else but hunting for shinies on purpose. Soft reset game to get a female Rowlet as starter with either sp. atk reducing or neutral nature? Get a SHINY FEMALE Rowlet in less than 30 SRs O_o. Chain wild Pikipeks while EV-training your team? Get a shiny Pikipek. Change your outfit into something new and then run into the closest bush just to see how your new outfit looks in the field (and then intend to turn off the console)? Find a shiny Ledian. Search for a Riolu in Poni Grove? Find a shiny Alolan Raticate. I also ended up finding yet ANOTHER shiny Pikipek at one point, while I was looking for an Eevee. And yet when I chained Eevees for +40 minutes with the very intention of finding a shiny, I only got a wild non-shiny Umbreon XD. Or when I chained Munchlaxes for about an hour for a wild low level Snorlax, I didn't see a single shiny.
Yeah, the RNG god in my Pokemon Sun save file had a VERY playful sense of humor, apparently Β―\_(γ)_/Β―.
